TB Bypass Question

^ Those are the two tubes I'm supposed to be unplugging and splicing together, right? I know this is simple, but I just wanted to make sure and, better safe than sorry you know....

BTW, that blurry thing up top is my CAI to help identify the location.

I DID SEARCH FOR LIKE AN HOUR DOUCHESNOZZLE!

I think those are the tubes though, you're just looking at then from a weird angle. In the 'how-to' those hoses are not connected and the copper ports exposed in the pictures. I was just makin sure....

YES PLEASE!

Because I'm a dumbass and that's completely different from the method in the 'How-to'.

Alain0124 is on a distinguished road
well what i did was disconnect those two hoses and connect them together. then i plugged the ports on the tb. super easyyy and great upgrade. i actually did my throttle body bypass today, at low rpms not much of a difference but, at 6000-7000 rpms you can feel the major difference.

Haha, yeah I did mine today too with dax's help through text message. I'd basically send him a pic and he'd tell me 'ok take that off' then another pic and he'd say ' now plug that down there'....pretty unorthodox, but it worked like a charm ; ).

Thanks again bro!

The car is running like a dream, by the way ; )

I noticed it was redlining a little faster tonite. Definitely not in my head either -- would the TB bypass help with that?
I did unplug my battery during the procedure also, so there's that -- but I don't recall increased torque and quicker redlined being s side effect of that, any of the thirty billion times I've done it. But either way my car was DEFINITELY redlining quicker than normal tonite....NICE! ; )

Heck, I hated to even park her she was running so good -- so I took her on a little 40-mile WOT trip through the backwoods of North Carolina for being such a good girl ; )

....exactly?

I feel like I was getting from around 5500 to 6000-6500 a little sooner than normal. And like I said I just reset me ECU to so it could be either. Either way my car is running great, and ANY heat you can reduce in this four-banger is a HUGE help -- it's an absolute killer to this engine.

your not actually reducing heat in the engine bay . . all u r doing is moving the hose so the heat is not directly on the throttle body

ok..sorry to bump this, but I dont want to start a new thread..but what exactly does the TB bypass do? I know it keeps the fuel cooler and all that. Should I put it back to stock in the winter time?

Hey, how exactly did you do this without the barbed coupler? I'm trying to understand it without pics but it's pretty hard :S.

Visualize this....

1st: Remove both hoses from the throttle body. Now you have two hoses loose.

2nd: Follow one of the hoses down, you will see it attached with a spring clamp. remove that hose all together. doesn't matter which one.

3rd: Now you have one hose, your goal is to connect it from where you removed the other hose. You are going to need to cut that hose to just long enough to reach. Once you cut it, use one of the spring clamps and connect it to the lower nipple.

4th: Your done! You don't need to to do anything with the two nipples on the TB.

Using a barb will make this much easier, when you do the mod using the method above, you are reaching into small spaces which makes it that much harder to do

I dunno, I think the one hose method that I did is easier than the barbed coupler thingie. Unless you have like Shrek hands or something. It's also free....

Also I used the extra hose to seal the two open nipples on the throttle body. Don't know if it matters, but figured it couldn't hurt. Maybe it'll keep the butterfly from getting as dirty or something.

I'd like to think I did SOMETHING productive ; )

Just a cavity as far as I know, the pic isn't for our applications, but you get the idea
