Im a 15 year old with a 97 eclipse gs and i need to make it kinda of faster... I live in a small town and no one really has a "Fast" car and i would like to be known to have a semi fast one. I know everyone will say just go get the gsx but my parents won't let me cause of how much insurance will be. I have a job and make around 1 grand a month which aint bad for being 15. I need to know some simple upgrades i can do to make it pretty fast. So far all i have is a intake. Right now my only challenge is a 08 cobalt which i would love to smoke...

Go get a gsT haha kiddin. Go get a gsT motor and swap it in..then no one will kno...sleeper and no insurance bump

you can get a turbo kit for the 420a

Assuming you have the 420a motor you can get them to be quick. Look into a megan header venom pcm (I still have mine pm me if you want to buy it) ebay cat back, megan short shifter. Start there then look into a hahn turbo set up

Mods that will make a difference
Underdrive Pulley
Modern Performance 60mm Throttle Body
2.5" Catback
Long duration Camshafts ( I have Crower 2s)

Mod that will make the biggest difference:

Megasquirt Fuel Management System. I have my Car running standalone on it. Tunability is your greatest chance at making power/making it fast.

I'd get headers and an exhaust before anything else - certainly before worrying about your cams.

Cams on the 420A are just as easy to change as the exahust.

I've gotta get a new engine for my 2G GS....I blew mine....
