High flow/Racing catalytic converter help....
Ok, so I'm debating whether to remove my second Cat entirely or replace it with a 'Racing' cat -- basically one that isn't a cat at all and would be almost a straight pass through and give me almost the same effect as having no cat at all, get me?
Do any of you guys have experience with this? What is a good cat to buy, that would give me the best performance upgrade, and basically be as straight through as possible? Basically, what are your suggestions, or what did you do/what brand or model did you go with if you kept the cat? Or did you get rid of the Cat entirely? This'll probably be my next mod -- as soon as I get a GT TB -- so I want to have everything lined up and ready to go for it, so any comments, tips, suggestions, and personal preferences or experiences would be a HUGE help.... Thanks guys....

And sorry for being a complete idiot, but in this picture -- number (4) is the bad, evil Cat that I want to get rid of correct? What is the thing right before it? a resonator? O do I have them switched?

I think I do have them switched....the first thing you come to after your headers is the Evil Cat correct? And that would make the long skinny piece right after it the resonator, correct?
Sorry guys, I'm kinda fucking stupid.

And the fact that RRE took all the cats off their car makes me think there is some performance to be had there....

I thought the third cat was non-restrictive and high-flowing, but the second cat was pretty much your standard performance-robbing cat

There is a bit of performance with a better flowing system. Im just saying the restrictive part is the cats in the headers and the muffler.
If your not going to have a problem passing inspections the i say remove it. Weld a pipe in its place If you are going to have that problem then 2.5" Magnaflow Catalytic Hi Flow Cat Converter 94106 | eBay |
