Just looking for advice.
I'm new to modifying vehicles, as my '07 Eclipse Spyder GT is the first one I've ever owned worth caring about, I've been wondering what I could do to it to make it look better, and move faster. I'm currently deployed in Iraq, and I'll be coming home soon, so I thought I might as well start figuring out what my options are, and what would be the best for my vehicle. I'm talking about engine mods, all the way to body kits, whatever is the best, and easiest to install that would give me a little bit of satisfaction. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. I'll have a picture of it up soon, but it's silver with a brown soft-top.

Thank you for the service to the country!
That's a broad subject you are asking about. For the GT the best first mods are CAI, Headers, TB by-pass, lowering springs, eyelids, HID kits for HL/fogs, possibly a spoiler and body kit. That should keep you busy for a while There are plenty more after that!

any brands that you'd say would be better for the CAI? I don't know too much but I've been looking at the Weapon R, and Injen stuff, but I want to know my money isn't all going into aesthetics, and thank you for the advice! I'm sure that will keep me busy for some time, and once I get started I'm sure I'll learn more and find more to change.

Don't get the weapon R. I've heard its crap, and its cheap. Get the K&N typhoon or the injen or AEM CAI. Don't forget about a good exhaust set up. Starting with Your full intake and exhaust system is going to show you a good bit of power. Like nitro said, that list should keep you busy for a while.

for a starter visual mod, get eyelids! huge difference.
performance start with intake and then exhaust. i personally have the fujita short ram intake and the magnaflow catback exhaust and i loooove the tone it has on my GT Auto City Imports : Sport Compact Auto & Import Performance Superstore is where all of us buy our stuff from. good prices and very reliable.

Oh, quick question, would I need to mess with my CPU or upgrade my chip first before installing any of these mods to maintain engine life? Or should stuff like a CAI or short ram not mess with that enough to matter?
