Need some advice with headers
So I've got some Rre shortie headers, but now I'm thinking I want to go FI with a ripp supercharger setup. Do I have to switch to longtubes or can I keep the rre's? Seems like slot of people on here when I searched it said you need longtubes as a recommendation so I figured I'd ask. Also ripp seems to not have any longtubes available and obx seems to questionable quality wise. So anyone selling there longtubes? Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure you need the long tubes man....just going to that stock y-pipe SUCKS big time. you need all that extra air to be able to get out of there as quick as physically possible. you could TRY it w/ the shorties, but I know the long tubes are recommended for forced induction.

Thanks Joey that's what I figured but wanted to ask too see if anyone has been able to pull it off. Well looks like I'm either going to have to settle for obx longtubes or wait till either ripp makes more or someone decides to sell theirs.

ahh there you go. another option. but going w/ the OBX ones aren't bad at all at $350 you know? hell go through a set, buy another when they where out. my RIPP LTs cost a god damn G. too much even tho they are really good. but hell, when me and Freeker put in his OBXs, the welds looked BETTER then the RIPP ones! anyway. all I'm saying is, for the price and performance most GT guys get w/ them, the OBX ones should be just fine if you don't wan't to do the shorties + a custom Y

also just make sure you get as good of an exhaust as you can as well - top off the exhaust portion of the set-up. I got the Injen 3" and it's monstrous. if you can't afford that (and it's fuckin pricy) then maybe a custom 3" pipe from the exhaust shop would get the job done there, as well.

^headers by them selves will give you a few extra ponies, but you have to COMBINE them w/ a CAI and a badass exhaust to see the most. getting air in and out of your motor as quickily as possible is the idea.

OBX long tubes for the GT are fine. OBX for the GS are no good - that is what I've heard from several respected smart guys on this forum. GT - yes; GS - no. as far as OBX is concerned.
