Magnaflow muffler help please - Club4G Forum : Mitsubishi Eclipse 4G Forums - 2006-2012 Eclipse Authority

Joe at ACI pm'd me telling me, because they do not make a dual set-up for the 2011 gs yet, to google magnaflow universal mufflers, tell him which ones I want, and he will get me a deal on them.

The problem is, there are too many universal mufflers and I dont know which one to pic. I have no idea what each one sounds like or what size.. I want it to sound deeper and smooth, not like a ricey honda..

Does anyone have an answer to which Magnaflow muffler I should choose?

All comments greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance..

i have the magnaflow catback and the pipe diemeter is 2.5" with 4" outlet. i had no problem with the install. i am not sure which body sizes will work but check out this page. look for an inlet of 2.5 and outlet is wutever u like, i personally recommend 4". but like i said i am not sure which body sizes can work so just find that out first, i also reccomend the oval body.

RRE makes a dual setup with mag's for $420 i believe,, they make it when ordered they dont keep em in stock

I called RRE, they only make a set-up for the GT, not GS

Dual exhaust would look awesome with the dual tips..Too bad the the bumper is only big enough for singles...

Has anyone customized their lower rear bumper to fit larger or dual tips? How to? or can you buy an aftermarket?

Yea. Search for the thread with "Horse" and "Orange" meetup pics. I think it's Horses' car with the bumper cut outs on the duals.

I will agree with you here. Best bang for the buck and best sound by far IMO. Just wish it was a TAD louder at idle.

I do love though how quiet at idle then you mash the gas and make people in the cars around you jump.

I had a local shop weld on some flowmasters that they had in stock...$250 installed.....Very deep growl,I love it.. My wife thinks the car is too loud, but when its just me & my boys in the car, they always tell me to go faster so they can hear how cool it sounds

so they cut out the stock muffler and welded that one on?

did you get to keep your stock mufflers? lol

Yes, they cut off the old ones and weld on the new ones..
Im sure you could keep the old ones but I didnt..

I tried doing a video but I cant figure out how to upload it to the computer and my video cam is a piece of crap...

Yes, same car.. I dont know the specifics on the type or part # of the mufflers..

I went to a local muffler shop ( valesquez & sons) They showed me some Flowmasters that would make my car sound better & 30min. later I was driving home with a big smile(My ears were very happy too)...
