Is a Cat delete worth it?

I'm about to order a Cat Delete pipe but I figured I'd ask you all knowing helpful sons of bitches first -- is a Cat Delete really worth it? It seems like it would be -- especially for $44.00.

But what ate the downsides? What about you guys with the delete do you like it? I believe Dax or Nitro one has one but I can't remember which....

So anybody with any experience, if you could throw some help and knowledge my way it'd be greatly appreciated....

Ha straight piped mine. As long as you have a good muffler it will sound good. I don't have to worry about emissions.

I have a racing cat and it made a heck of a difference. When it is time for inspection here I have it setup with flanges and can swap in a regular cat to allow me to pass. In NC they stick that anal probe thing up your exhaust pipe Don't you think that is proof that aliens have infiltrated our population?

Got it from the magni-flow website. Will try and find it...but no promises. It looks just like any other cat but you could watch TV trough it....the catalyst is a tube...wide open through the center.

This is the site I got it from.............

also remember man you will throw codes if you go w/ no cat....if you don't care about that then fine, but just keep that in mind. you could fix them with the F/IC or maybe fool with some spacers in some sort of config, but you'd have to work to get them to go away I do believe.
just my 2 cents. you'll sure gain some flow and some sound - but like ross and others are saying, it's mainly about the muffler that's going to give you the sweet or shitty note in the end

2.25 is factory size piping. if you are upgrading your exhaust, you could go 2.5 if you do the whole exhaust.

My cat is welded on not bolted already, so they're gonna have to cut it off. So you're saying even though the piping is 2.25, a 2.5 will fit? Are there any advantages to getting a 2.5?

Thanks for the info....

It's called a 'non-cat'. Did you look at it? It looks like a cat from the outside but it's really a straight through pipe cat delete....pretty clever ; )

I would say hell no, but I don't know -- I've heard several Eclipse owners with cat-deletes say they've passed inspection.

Can any of my North Carolina brethren help me here?

Can someone enlighten me?

Go go hottexhaust.com. Magnaflow sent me there from their website as an authorized dealer, they have a million of them for really good prices.

The only one that's 2.25 is only 8" long. The 2.5 one is 11" inches long -- since it has to be welded anyway, would that work with my piping?
