Hood Spacing?

I was at a little car meet yesterday and there was a guy with a Tc telling us about how he put on hood spacers and his engine bay was a lot cooler and dispersed heat a lot faster because the hood was spaced away from the car (about 1/4 on the front and sides and 1/2 at the top of the hood near the windshield) creating a kind of giant air vent to disperse all the hot air. The spacing wasn't too noticeable unless you really looked and soon after a guy in an SI pulls up and his hood is spaced too. I figured I was kind of behind or maybe its just not possible for our cars? Has anyone ever done this or looked into it?

It is a drifter trick any car can do it. There is a thread today talking about removing the rear weather stripe of of oem hood same idea. With less air flow. This is why you see drift kid with out there hoods on and or front bumper. You over heat easy when drifting.

Aaahhhhh I'm almost certain he wasn't a drifter and neither can the 4G drift lol Is it a quick thing worth doing or is it just all talk?

Knot saying he was a drifter that is just where it came from and it works. Take off your weather stripe on the back of the hood. (The black band) to start. To do the lift you will have to take off the hood and get some washers to go up a 1/4". To go up 1/2" you would need a bracket for the front screw. And a longer screw in the back. To lift up the front turn the black nods up front and maybe move the hood latch up some.
