is it worth it ?

im about to throw in the towel considering no machine shop or jdm or even ebay gives a shit about 4g eclipse l so hard to find parts like no one is making parts anymore.
i will never give up on my 4 banger but in your own words explain what you think in this message

not going to lie im drunk what killed me today is ebay
i killed a 5th of whipped creamed vodka with coke vanilla and it got me thinkin.
i simply typed in 4g69 and only like 20 things posted up on ebay
i typed in 4g63 and a billion things posted up
just telling you personally that it killed me bro i feel as if this car is amazing and has amazing potential i mean just knowing that in its class is the only of its kind is cast iron vs cheap aluminum blocks tells me the 4g still has its outstanding potential as if it was a dsm 2g or 1g.
but the lack of parts and how its hard to find shit makes me question (not give up but just question)
all in all do you think its better
(if you wanted to go fast )a 1 or 2g is the way to go!?
what do you think i look up to you bro from what you did to your gt that shits impressive and its hard to be inspired when i see an awd 63 thats cheaper to mod vs the 4 g
what do you think?

this very well could be put in the noob section

It's frustrating I'll give you that. We may never be the fastest car but I'd say 80% of the cars I see daily I'm faster then. Thats at least 80%. Our cars also look a lot better than other cars. I don't go to the track so I'm never really racing. I have a great DD that I have put blood sweat a tears into. Just my .02

I know i have a gt, but what more could you want that doesn't satisfy your need? just between IHE, tune, nitrous, accessories for nitrous, suspension, cosmetics, small add ons like bigger tb, pulleys for the gs how can you be able to afford your car payment and all of those mods? I mean if you keep the car for 10 years, i can see being bored once you get all of these parts, but unless you have unlimited money to spend right now, you should be happy we have at least all of those parts which is more then some car brands. if you need even more satisfaction try turbocharging or motor swapping your car. you won't complain there aren't enough parts then. I get one major modification ($500+) every 3-5 months and that keeps me happy/satisfied.

yeah, if you just want to mod, then there are certainly easier and cheaper options. if you love the 4g and want to mod IT, then it's going to be a tough road, no doubt about it.

Lvcien will become famous soon enough
There will always be something that is:
  • Better looking (that's pushing it, IMO)
  • Faster
  • Cheaper
  • Easier to mod
  • With better aftermarket support
  • With more potential
And possibly more fun than a 4G...BUT for the hardcore 4g'ers - none of this matters.

They embrace the 4G for something more than this. They embrace this car for it's heritiage, history & soul, after that everything else is just a bonus.

That "better looking" would be tough one to overcome (as you suggested). There aren't too many "reasonably" priced cars out there that look as good.

For me .....it is all part of the challenge. We don't have all the options that other cars do but we have enough

This is my first car modding too, and I have a very clear idea of what I want to do. The market isn't small for us, its expensive for us. Start out with Headers, CAI, aesthetics, suspension, and the AEM FIC. Oh, and exhaust. That will keep you busy and wondering why you ever made this thread.
And yeah man, There are other cars. But when I ride with a honda, I tell them, the interior is some bs, the ride sucks duck hole, and it sounds like dhirrea coming out of the exhaust pipe. When they ride with me, they think its a lexus or some shit. They ask me what my system is, and how much, I tell them stock and its like they just ate a lemon. The muffler I have, is AMAZING. Good sound, and doesn't constantly sound like a car shitting itself.

Bottom line : There are TONS of shit you can do to a GS... Engine and aesthetics...
Our car has a REALLY nice look to it, and the interior isn't too shabby!
I love my car, and the only thing I'd trade it for, would be a GT. ;]

I take more pride in the harder less taken road, anyone can build something thats been done 100x over with cheaper parts. Its just a matter of how far you are willing to go, and if you arent im not hatn.
