stupid cobalt keeps beatin me! NEED HELP!
i need to make my gt faster but i dont have 5000 for the supercharger package so is there anywhere i can actually make it faster and beat my friends cobalt?

I dunno what you have already but,
Intake Exhaust Tb bypass Proflow throttle body Intake and throttle body spacers Short shifter Nitrous..u can pick a full kit up for around $300-$800 depending on new or used Tune with fic I have all these things just motor I'm at 265 whp untuned on the bottle I should be at around 350 I hope...I have raced one cobalt that gave me a run for the money but it was in traffic and we were breaking and goin wasn't a good race..you shouldn't have a problem unless he's got that thing built

well this cobalt is my best friends and its a ss supercharged and he has the zzp stage 3pulley, heat exchanger, etc. he has like 5k in the motor but its still a close race but my motor is still all stock and it doesnt help that mines a auto and his is a stick
but whats this proflow throttle body? and tb bypass? |

Throttle body is bored out bigger more air flow..the bypass is so that it doesn't send 100 degree coolant stuff into it to help defrost it in a way when it's cold...that doesn't make sense just don't know how to explain it..with all that in ur car it should take him

bypass is really easy to do. takes like 2 minutes on the gs shouldnt take any longer on the gt

Bypass is easy search and there will be a thread u buy a piece of tubing takes all of 10 min to do. The throttle body is from a company called Proflow designs takes bout 3 weeks because the send it out to get bored out then u send them urs..costs $250 and there's a $250 core charge hold until u send urs to them

Nitrous for me is a bitch because I keep running into problems. Install isn't bad just depends how in depth u wanna get it..I'm changing out my fuel pump and everything..it's only illegal in a few states but illegal everywhere to use it on the street..but how will they know..install a bottle opener if u get pulled over u close the bottle.

A/f ratio was dangerous so bout a bigger fuel pump when we pulled it of noticed the filter is different and have to use the stock one..mine is filthy and we think that was the problem so have to get a new one..other problem like scheduling with my mechanic, fic hookup and lil things should be done this week

Ya I wouldn't sell my car if someone beat an eclipse ...there would be very few of us left.
I think it's better to see people's faces when you pull on them...had a guys mouth drop a few weeks back when I pulled hard on his g37

the throttlebody work is done by ProFlow, here let me get you the link:
Proflow Design takes up from 65mm to 67mm...not an enourmous power adder or anything, but get your whole intake track ported and polished and you'll for sure add some. then the small things add up, trust me.

Our buddy has a stage 3 SC Cobalt and he's always got Lisa in the long run. No traction due to crappy tires in the first two gears but as soon as boost kicks in he goes SCREAMING by. Same as the OP, Cobra heat exchanger, etc...She's always got him off the line until about fifty but then he catches her and slingshots by. They may not be the prettiest things but they can go when done right.
I still beat him in my truck though. |

The problem with both SC and TC cobalts is ECU doesn't like the extra HP...way too many headaches with SC cobalt to make it a competitor...sure it quick its supercharged but the ECU can't handle the extra HP even with its reflash.

Joey, I just read your entire story. Sounded like one great, quick time! And my cat just farted in my lap...sorry, distraction, trying not to throw up...but I digress. I love my truck and just wish every now and then SOMEONE would like to run for fun but it never happens. Occasionally I'll have some beater/ricer try to fly by but premium gas is too expensive to blow on that. I'm pretty sure not many people know of my truck's capabilities and therefore don't give a crap. Either way, I like your stories and keep 'em coming. To those that disbelieve, ok Haha No (no offense) the Cobalts can give some pretty stiff competition when done right so don't discount them. I get chills when I hear that SC go screaming by in fun. Shreds my eardrums.

^thanks Jordan! yeah that was the very best race I've been in. the rush I got was incredible and haven't felt it so intense since then. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't addicted to it. I heard the guy spool up and was like "uh-oh...I'm in trouble here...." but just mashed, shifted like I'd never shifted before, felt all my other upgrades come together and hold my GT up for the win. starting with my blower, felt the coils holding me to the ground like a F1 racer, and let the LSD put the power where I needed it. stiffy, bushings, short shifter, sways - all doing their job. it was SO great to feel all my upgrades help me get that win. this guy was a tough customer and meant business is all I know.

you should be able to beat a SS/SC cobalt with some money, I sit at about 280-290 to the rear wheels and can beat them all day, even modded, honestly theyre not too fast
the turbos...oh god...fuck the turbos
