Hey, I've been looking to put a new muffler on my 07 eclipse, the stock one isn't quite loud enough for my tastes. Does anyone have any experience with the 44's? I have heard mixed reviews from people. Or do you have any suggestions for a muffler that doesn't sound too ricey?

The video sounds great man, but the tanabes are a little out of my price range at the moment haha. I was looking to spend more like $100 on the muffler its self.

Mine.sounds good. They were 80 bucks each for the dc sport mufflers

You can try and see if you can find that ebay exhaust and just use the muffler. Or just do away with the muffler all together if you just want loud. Or go to a shop and see what they have.

hushpower is the resonator not the muffler..

Oh haha, shows you how much I know. I still think I'm going to try the flowmaster, because I like that deeper sound a lot. People keep saying they're not good for imports though, anyone have a different opinion?

i would have to agree with them not being good/designed for a tuner car. it probly wouldnt sound right

Is there a flowmaster muffler that you'd recommend? I'm not looking to redo the whole exhaust, just replace the muffler.

you can get a ready-to-bolt-on from RRE, or look out for a used one...
all you need to make sure is that it's a 2.5" in / 4" out

Muffler fits 2-1/4in inlet x 3-3/4in outlet x 18-1/2in long

ex 5017 i believe.. i bought 2 of the same and in the inside are different.. if u look into them from the tip one ha s abigger opening in the middle then the other but they sound the same so o well lol

pretty sure the GT piping is 2.3xx" ...

once the pipe splits to dual i go a lil smaller this way each muffler getin a good flow im 2.5 up to the Y pipe

I had a flow master on my gt but straight pipe. was deep as hell but got raspy needed a resonator but I jus love the idea of free flowing air..there's a video on you tube or if you search on here you can find it I can't post from my iPad. Still have it for sale also

I think i'm going to try out the flowmaster, the factory exhaust already has a resonator on it. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.

I have 2 flowmasters on mine and they sound nice & deep pitch.
not ricey at all.. Not sure what type they are.. Local shop installed them for $250 total out the door(mufflers & labor)
Wife thinks its too loud when we are driving but from outside, people have told me they cant believe a 4 banger sounds that good. And it sounds amazing with the Ingen SRI when I get on it..

well i also have a GT too so i know it sounds different, ive had a flowmaster on another car i had...a olds cutlass with a 3.1L OHV and i liked how that sounded.

Thrush makes a welded muffler that is a direct copy of the Flowmaster and cheap as hell. They are made by Dynomax.

well ive found some cheap imatations of flowmasters on ebay for like $25...if the pictures are real they look identical, i may go that route. still a little unsure exactly how it would sound tho on my v6?
