HID's Outlawed, Need Some Info

So after market HID's are now illegal in Louisiana. Apparently, the law says that HID's cannot be brighter or dimmer than what 'comes from the factory'. Problem is, they didn't bother to say anything about 'what comes from the factory'.
So I'm trying to figure out what temperature HID's can come stock on our rides. I've checked around Mitsu's site and found nothing. A few others sites haven't helped out either, so I figured I'd see if anyone on here knew.

Partial good news for me then! I'm rockin 6K's with the after market housings. I wonder....if I invest in the stock projector housings, I bet I could throw them off if I get pulled over. Either way, I refuse to go back to halogens. The HID's are simply too good.
Thanks for the help!

Just angle them down a bit so they are not shining in someones mirrors and you should be good. Also where in Louisiana are you?

I can't figure out how to angle the right one down. It won't budge.

And I'm back and forth between Ruston and Funroe.

I hope to God they ban them in NC -- sorry guys -- but those things have damn near made me come VERY close to wrecking several times.

Plus I have bad migraines, and if one of those fuckers gets behind me when I have a headache, I literally have to pull over or something and let them past.

Sorry, but I LOATHE them. Even though they look cool, I refuse to put them on my car and be a hypocrite.

I have 5k bulbs for my fogs and I have 4300k for headlights cause my fogs are a tiny bit bluerish compared to my stock HID headlights and I'll have to update my headlights to 5k too to match now.

Also, as a side comment, well adjusted, with the right rating and properly installed HID's do not produce "extreme glare" and are not an issue for other drivers when installed properly. The problem lies in people either not adjusting them, or installing higher wattage HIDs or actually not ensuring the HID bulbs are in an appropriate HID projector type housing etc which is what is creating the glaring effect. I have no issues with properly installed HID systems myself.

Also keep in mind that for those that are "lowered" obviously the HID's of other vehicles might hit more on their cars as a side effect since you're sitting lower than a normal driver for 80%+ of the cars out there. Good window tint and possibly a auto adjustable tint mirror can help compensate in those cases.

i dont blame you, unaimed ones can be blinding. in a few years HIDs and LEDs will probably just be standard lights on cars.

Even when I drove an SUV they were a major problem, to be honest it was WORSE. Now, a lot of times I'm lower than the beam, and it helps a lot.

Now that I think about it, I've had much less trouble with them since I began driving the Eclipse.
