Motors manual

Motors manuals have been around for ages, but mainly for GM, Chrysler and Ford models. I was at the library the other day and noticed they now have a 2006 "Asian" edition that includes all the Mitsubishi models including the Eclipse.

These manuals aren't the greatest for detailed repair info because they try to cover too many different makes and models in one book but if you need some additional info that is not covered in the Tech manual available on this site it might be worth a try. I don't think I would rush out and buy one but if your local library has a copy it might be worth a look.

Or you can just use the Eclipse Service Manual, it's very in-depth in all areas of our car, and has literally thousands of pages of exact information on repairs and trouble shooting procedures.

Eclipse Service Manual:

Engine Over-Hall 2.4 & 3.8:

However, when it comes to rebuilding a high compression engine, or transmission, there are tricks of the trade that might not be particular to the service manual, or know by the average backyard mechanic. Besides most people don't have the proper equipment to rebuild an engine, or transmission, let alone warranty their own work, so some jobs a better done by a professional who does warranty his/her work. Just my two-cents, and the Eclipse Service Manual is just a click away.
