Is anyone elses gas cap cord broken
So i went to fill up my tank a few weeks ago and as i lightly unscrewed my gas cap, i let the cap hang on the cord (again lightly no pulling/dropping hard) the cord just ripped apart like scissors were taken to it. WTF? I thought. Is this common on these cars. does mitsu replace these for free or do people use zip ties or something else

that happened to my mom's montero but when it happened it wasn't under warranty, my dad fixed it but i forgot what he did to fix it

i took that stupid chord off of mine right after i bought the car because i did not want the gas cap banging on my car(especially if the wind is blowing).the paint job is shitty enough lol.it doesnt need no help.but if you must have another one,im sure the stealership will hook you up

lmao that happen to me then for like 3 months i had to keep pushing the cord behing the cap to shut the door pretty anoying!then just a few weeks ago i was feeling tank up to top this time normally dont have patience on waiting but while i was waiting i looked at cord as easily ripped it from cap or car whichever and was like really thats all i had to do!now no more cord judt easily screw it on and shut door now! it sits on gas pump handle while i pump works out just finr better then it bagin into your car like he said up there! ^

i use a locking gas cap. when im filling up i put it on the hatch glass

Weird. Ya mines broken as well. It must of happened when I wasn't paying attention. I noticed it broken one day when I went to fill up. Looks like it was cut.
