Wow! that is crazy! Such a drag you had so much trouble with your car. I've had my car 4 yrs now, and it's never been down from a breakdown only from dumb things I have done. Sorry it didn't work out for you, and I wish you the best of luck with your next car.

Yeah, when Mitsu installs a nut or bolt, It's not going to break easily, they use a clear type lock-tight on just about everything. So six-point sockets and wrenches are a must, along with a breaker-bar, plus a three-foot extention to put over the breaker-bar. I have yet to strip a nut or bolt, but have built some new muscles breaking shit loose.
But those are some of the problems you have to deal with when you buy a used car. These days I'm very careful to look at the scheduled maintenance and mileage that's on the car, then I'll quiz the dealer and start knocking the price down if those scheduled maintenance items have not been completed. Hell, they want top-dollar for the vehicle, then two-months later want you to spend another $1000 for scheduled type maintenance... So you have to watch for some of this stuff; otherwise it'll nip you in the butt. Also any time I buy used, I expect to put up to $2000 extra into maintenance to make sure it's road worthy. To many people drive, don't maintain, then sell just before the major scheduled maintenance is due. So now that you've done all this scheduled, some not scheduled maintenance, you're going to give someone a sweet deal?

Sure hate you had such bad luck...sounds like there was some salt damage that caused part of this. Best of luck with the new ride.

Yes im going to uninstall some things tomorrow, had an interview today so been busy out of town. Will at least start the for sale thread tomorrow I figure.
Oh and PS, while driving home from my interview my engine light came on, and my oil light keeps flickering on and off at idle, even though its not low on oil...hurray for my POS lemon car. Ill prob never get this thing sold. |

whats the outside temp where you live right now ?
edit;a few things should help get the idle up if you havnt done them allready.do a tb bypass to stop the tb from getting hot as hell.and with the injen sri,its certainly not helping as both of those would cause a lower idle imo because of the heat your engine is taking in.how does your air filter and plugs look ? are you running quality gas ? how about the maf sensor, does it need cleaning ? these are a few things that may help get the car back to a regular idle.allso make sure the ccv hose going onto the intake is not leaking.just throwin you some ideas out there.allso, can you get rid of the 3rd cat ? it may or may not be allso causing you probs.this car hates heat and i remember after i did the tb bp and pulley,my idle went up a tad.hope some of this helps you
