gear shift knob aftermarket???????

I just bought several different shifter knobs from pep boys and auto zone and I couldnt find one that fits? theyre all universal but our stock reverse on the 6 speed unlocks with the pull switch. I don't know about the 5 speed my bad, but DOSE ANYONE have a nice aftermarket shifter that was an easy install? They're too deep and the adaptor dose not grab enough of the knob to hold effectively. Thanks guys

Rice time! I have a question about this shift knob, the locking nut it comes with in the picture..is that for the boot to button around. I am having trouble finding a knob that I can attached my shift boot around, I dont like it just sagging there.

dont think so,its to tighten the shift knob down to a certain point so that the ralliart name will be facing in the right direction

beings how the nut has a wide part on it,you MIGHT still be able to snap the boot on if the nut will screw on wide part down

edit; if not,see if you can find a nut similar to that one except with a bigger bottom that will accommodate the snap portion of the boot

all the ones at autocityimports seem to work...that's where I got my M1 Abrams....it's one of the sweetest, most tasteful mods I have.....have you checked those? Grab a short shifter kit w/ aluminum base bushings along with it and boy oh boy the feel is 10X improved. I LOVE mine.

When I received it, it was made for a standard shifter that didnt have the reverse lock. So I traced the reverse lock around the base of the knob and used a dremel to cut out the aluminum in a circle so that the reverse lock could easily slide up inside of it like the stock knob. Took me about an hour to dremel and smooth it out so it looks good, but you cant even notice it was ever modified. The sleeve still slid up inside and the knob was threaded onto it. It doesnt move or wobble at all.
