Mechanics Damaged 3rd Gear ?

My transmission (2nd gear) was messed up from last summer incident
with my clutch getting roasted. Tens months later I finally get the car
to the shop (June 21st).

They ordered the parts, and received them on July 8th, began repairs
on July 12th. I was about to take the 5 hour drive to pickup the car,
figured I would call first. Sure enough, July 20th while repairing the 2nd
gear, they somehow managed to mess up 3rd gear.

He initially said they broke it, but after I called back an hour later to
ask if I could just take the car while they ordered more parts, he said
the tranny is taken apart, 3rd gear completely gone and is not safe
enough to drive, and made it sound as if they did not break it, but
it was already damaged.

Today (July 28th) I called, they dont have an ETA on when the parts
will even be in Canada, so I spent the entire summer car less. To top
it all off, they havent given me one damn update, I have to call them
every second week or so, just to see whats happening.

Anything I can do about this inconvenience ? Also I apologize for this
rant, Im just pretty irritated.

Thats pretty much covered, all under warranty. Even the 2nd gear was.

If Im just complaining, I dont see what good that will do. Personally I think
I deserve the alignment for my new tires I also bought be free. But thats just
my opinion.

Then again, last time they did an alignment. The steering wheel actually became
shaky after 100km/h at times.

But that can Also be caused by unbalenced tires. It just happen to me last week. just had them rebalanced and its smooth now.

I'll see what I can get from the complaining, but next time I'll take my car
elsewhere for repairs.. 2 other dealers in the city.

The loaner Galant they gave me is just not cutting it. Only thing good about
that car is the suspension is better on bumpy roads.

It's not unusual if you mess-up one gear, that you end up damaging other gears as well. And you don't know the condition of the gear box untill you open it up. If it covered under warranty be glad about that!!! Rebuilding these trannies an't cheap!!!! But I do feel for your lose, I'd miss my baby to if it was in the shop for that long. But all Mitsu dealers don't keep many parts on hand, even down here it can take up to 10-14 days for a part to come in!!

I would be thrilled if a part only took 2 weeks, the current trend seems to be about
3 to 4 weeks, then 2 weeks for a repair. No matter what is wrong with the car.

Ive never had a problem with 3rd gear, but I have been having issues with 1st gear.
While stopped, sometimes trying to put the car in 1st gear it will not go into place,
so I have to let off of the clutch a little for it to slap into 1st.
