Hey everyone as you may know from other posts ive made, i bought my car brand new and im making payments on it. Naturally with that comes a warranty. I already have an Injen SRI on there and im looking to install an RRE Pulley in the next week or two. My question is... every part is covered under the Mitsubishi manufaturer warranty individually right? ie: my new intake is covered by Injen now instead of Mitsu if it were to go, etc. I didnt want to void everything completely or else im sol. Before anyone gets smart about "maybe you should of asked before you modded" i did ask the dealership and they kinda said "it wont void your warranty completely just the parts you replaced will be voided" if this is true with anyone from personal experience i would really appreciate the input. thanks!

thats true. they cant void your warranty unless they can prove the part caused the problem.

in most cases, warranty is great... until you need it !!!
i'll be honest, i hate all 3 local dealers here, but still... in case of a major issue, the dealer wont just bend over and say "yes we'll cover it under warranty" if you have any AM part that could be, closely or loosely, related to your problem... Mitsu Motors of North America will obviously take the side of the dealer... so if the dealer says "no warranty work, sorry", you're fu**ed...

thats why i dont worry about doing stuff to my car

that pulley can get you in a lot of trouble if the dealer sees it

So all in all I'm ok still? Like if something gets fried, lets say an egr or a catcon, they will replace it no questions asked even though I have after market parts that have nothing to do with those particular items?

just keep all of your stock parts and switch em out when you need to take it to the dealer/

That's a good idea. I kept my OEM intake. I just read a shit ton of articles about warranty void and aftermarket parts. They can't legally void your warranty unless that aftermarket part did the damage in question. So if my struts went on me obviously my intake wouldn't have caused that so legally they can't say shit about anything I've done. Just an example of course haha. I guess I answered my question.

Engine mods might give a dealer an excuse to deny an engine warranty claim, and possibly any warranty claim with the driveline if it appears to increase power output, but it's true that it won't affect warranty on things like interior trim and body.
