How when where why did you get your "baby".

Was gonna buy one of the 1st camaro SS off the line.

Was about to sign the pw when wife walks up and says she wants that car there and points to something unbeknownst to me she has already test driven talked to our sales guy and was coming over to cut the deal.

Needless to say I look at her like a 12 yr old who has just realized he's not getting that new minibike for christmas because mom wants a new fridge and so you end up with something "less expensive".

So we drove out in her new car....

I pouted for several weeks every day twice a day on our trip in.

Finally she agreed to open the checkbook and I could buy something fun in the price range of the difference between what the SS would have cost and what she spent.

Now I know some of might say (in the voice Eric Cartman) "If some woman told me what to do, I'd be like .....HEY !!!YOU GET YO BITCH ASS BACK IN THE KITCHEN AND MAKE ME SOME PIE!!!!!

But with her running the books I have just about anything I need and a lot of what I've wanted so, if the accounting dept puts limits I've learned to go with it.

But I digress
There she sat on the far corner of the back lot of a Chevy dealership under a pretty thick coat of dirt and pollen and sap. Leaves piled up around her.

The tag from 6mos earlier for 16999.00 was on the dash. 07 GT Auto with almost all the bells and whistles (no leather and all dark interior no orange whatsoever with 18000 and some on it).

I looked at Paul and told him I'll give you 12k I mean it's already almost 3yrs old, so, I asked our guy how much he got the key as he did that I looked her over and realized with only one ding she was darn near perfect no wheel rush but a pinky nail size blemish on one wheel.

I sat down turned the key opened all the doors turned on the ac (it still smelled new) at this point he was grinning like an idiot so he shows all the real info about the car including his cut their cut markups markdowns
etc etc.

(I've purchased 4 vehicles from this guy and he's always done right by us.)

So he tells me that the owner is going to be swinging by for the monthly staff meeting. turns out she hates messes of anykind or her used lot looking like a salvage yard not a service dept or proper dealership.

So we walk up to the GM and I hit him with and offer a price 500 less than what will be the next month markdown.

Since they know us there and they know I don't play games or BS so he bumps that up a 1000.00 I offer him 2000.00 less than that he know my price or lose the sale explain why this crappy looking import (she was a mess and I big show of it ) is still on my lot when you had a chance to get rid of it.

So 13000.00 is what I paid plus extended W and they threw in a full paint protection appearance pkg and detailed the fuck out of it when they were done on the other side of the house.

I swear she had not looked as good since the day she rolled off the line so for about 14K total I said do it.

So when I go to pick it up all the sales guys are like Nice, when did we get this in? and Paul's like "In? this is going out"

Best case of serendipity if you ask me.

Never a regret and glad I did not end up being associated with so many in the Club DB community.

My mom told me to come pay her car off and take it a little over a year ago..paid $5000 plus a sons love.. Wasn't my first choice I used to drive a mustang and a z28 but ended up loving this car...doesn't look like moms car anymore.

i drooled over the Spyder for a year... went for 2 test drives (auto GS, then 6spd GT)... then one Saturday afternoon i said "screw it, i'm getting it"... i got it up the a$$ alright from the dealership, paid full price and some for it, then a month later she showed up...

Before my purchase, the eclipse was going to be an 05 chryseler crossfire with only 5k miles on it (and this is 2011!) someone garaged a brand new crossfire and i was going to own it. it was being transferred from carmax in NC but some woman cut the delivery truck off and it tipped over destroying the cars on the carrier. It must have been fate because I ended up finding the 08 SE with only 6k on it. the crossfire was 15k though compared to the 18 i spent on the SE. But my car is all optioned out for 08 compared to the base (6 speed though) crossfire but not the SRT-6 (top of the line). I think it all worked out and the eclipse fits my personality better. the crossfire still would have been nice, but def not as fast

I went online to buy a new Eclipse. The webpage let you select the options you wanted and then would send out to local dealers who would contact you. Well the closest and biggest in the state didn't even bother with contacting me but a Mitsu dealership in Fayetteville responded and gave me quote. I took a day off from work and drove down there only to find out that they didn't even have a GT much less the white one they had quoted me on. They said they could find me one and did though but wanted full sticker price and I told them the hell with that! As I was about leave I spotted my '08 on the used car lot and got a quote. I then went home and called back several times getting them to reduce the price and reminding them each time how they had tried to pull a bait and switch on me. As the end of the month approached and I was assuming they were not making their numbers I called and offered 1k less than their lowest offer and they said if I came that day i could have it for that. When i got there I told them i had to have the smokers kit....they couldn't produce one and I made them knock another $100 off of it. Still won't do business with them again but I got a good buy.....and that is how my love/hate relationship started

PS....they tried to sell me a GS and said that is what everyone was modding ('cause I had mentioned I was going to do some work on it)....I said yes they are due to the fact that they are so slow....no deal.

I got prequalified for a 12k loan and I had been searching on autotrader for ANY car, mine was going to die in about 1 week (chevy Lumina) I was only searching 50 square miles and my co workers was being nosy and did a search behind my back with 100 square miles and sure enough she found my pride and joy 78 miles away at a used car lot. I went down their with my dad, we drove it around and I wasnt sure at first but I said what the hell. They asked about 11,500 on it but I just lied and said I was pre qualified for 10,200 so thats what we ended up settleing for. After everything was said and done with taxes it ended up coming out to about 10,500... A lot of my friends gave my shit for the buy, teased me... called me ricer, ect ect. They all had very well built cars im not even gonna begin to name them. Then along came my big conversion and now nobody looks down on my car any more, performance wise anyway. I still know a ton of people who hate the ass end of this thing, I myself wish it was a little more defined.
