oil changes
1) How much oil does the 06 GT eclipse take. I'm trying to figure out how many quarts of oil to buy.
2) Now over my 7500 miles on my 7500 mile amsoil. Is this still sold? I'm considering getting their signature series but it is at 25,000 mile chang intervals. I think they also have 10,000 mile that is a little cheaper. |

I have ran 7500 mile amsoil and never had any issue or anything. Gas mileage is the same and it's still purring as good as it ever been. I noticed they have 25000 mile oil, but I may get their 10,000 instead. I know they recommend 5w-20. All I know is, this stuff works really good and I wouldn't use any other oil.

I did mine every 8000-9000 with 5w20 mobil 1 synthetic. I've taken apart the valve covers at 60,000 and it still looked great, no gunk or anything. It was a little brown on the inside of the covers, so I decided to stick with 7500-8000 instead. The people who are changing at 3000 miles are actually doing more harm than good. (waste of money and waste of perfectly good oil). The color of your oil has nothing to do with how well it lubricates. You can send a sample of your oil to Blackstone Labs and for around $30 they will tell you what's in it and how long it can last.
