SOOOO Fucking Stoked (New Bumper)

So to make this really long story as short as possible: I rear-ended this dumbass old lady who slammed on her brakes in front of me in a construction zone -- it was freshly laid, still steaming concrete and I slid into her at about 5MPH did NOTHING to her shitty little Kia SUV but since I'm LOWAAAARD I went UNDER her rear bumper and it peeled my hood all the way up and fubared my bumper for shits and giggles.

BUT, since no damage was ever done to her car, no cops were called, no claims were filed -- so....the wreck NEVER happened.

This is where it gets good -- two nights later I hit a deer head on going 60MPH. VOILA! New hood and bumper!

So, I got a $1200 check from my insurance, and I've been trying to decide between the R-Spec hood or a bad-ass bumper. I've been wanting the RalliArt bumper since the day I got my car and came home and started looking for mods -- THIS is where everything started to fall into place....

First, I found a guy with a fucking spare SILVER hood that he "doesn't want much for just wants it gone" BAM! The same day I called Joe at AutoCity and worked out a deal -- they started hand fabricating an exact replica of the original RalliArt concept bumper for me on Tuesday, complete with black diamond mesh grille, and RalliArt badge, for -- get this -- TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN DOLLARS. $215!!

I'm so fucking stoked out of my mind right now -- I'm getting the one thing I've wanted more than anything since I got my car, getting a new hood already painted MY color for basically the cost of shipping, AND about seven-hundred bucks in my pocket, Hell I might get the R-Spec hood too!

Not too bad for hitting a fucking deer huh?

Haha, yeah I though about that. But in all truthfulness, I DID hit a big ass deer going 60 and it made my hood and bumper MUCH worse. So even without the original wreck, my hood and bumper would have been completely destroyed by the deer anyway -- without a doubt.

Honestly, my bumper was fine before the deer -- but there's no way I could have let my beautiful baby ride around with a fucked up hood, so I REALLY lucked out with how it all went down.

Now my car is going to be ooooh SO pure sex -- I mean drop dead gorgeous. Like looking in the mirror, " What kind of car was that?" sexy. I've already got the head painter at a custom body shop lined up to do the install of the canard and bumper/grille and the paint of course.

He's good. Best in town from what I've been told -- so I went and found him and made him work me in ; ) I want the absolute best on this -- I want it perfect. Plus, after I placed the order, Joe thought it was important enough to call me back and tell me specifically not to take it to somewhere like Macco or any type of collision center but to take it to a custom shop and put their best guy on it, because apparently the RalliArt bumper is much more of a complex and skilled install than normal.

Just can't wait for it all to be done! Ughhh, I'm not big on patience, especially with my baby ; )

And I got the one with bigger diamonds like on the OG RalliArt, not the tight mesh shit....

It's literally going to look just like the OG down to every last detail -- except for my RA badge ; )

How does insurcance do this? I thought you can't get aftermarket stuff and only OEM before they hand out checks, and yes pics of the origional ralliart compared to the "replica" ralliart bumper if you can. I Didn't think there was much difference

Most of the time you can buy aftermarket parts to replace OEM parts with the check from your insurance company

Opt to cash out with your insurance company. A representative will inspect the damage and give you an estimate on how much the damage is worth. You then pay the deductible and they send you a check.

Back in the day I had a little accident that damaged my door and fender so I cashed out, did the work myself and walked away with my car looking like new. Also a cool 600 bucks in my pocket and a few extra windows.

No shit ; )

I have 'my dude' who does all my estimates, my friend of 20 years : ). They let me get him do the estimate and they sent me exactly what he said the damage was. And he's doing the work if any that I can't handle ; )

I don't even want to post how much money I'm pocketing after everything is said and done -- just for the slight chance my insurance company is watching ; )
