Eclipse is Trash? WTF did you just say
Okay, so for anybody watching The Car Show tonight, you'd know that the guys on their said "Mitsu was trash and the Eclipse is in the Toilet". NOT A COOL STORY BRO! lol it just pissed me off, wanted to get you guys's thoughts on the huge diss the 4g just got on SPEED.

I wouldnt call it trash and in the toilet, but the thing is that mitsubishi has been going downhill for a while, the trans on their flagship performance car is shittier than a fat guy's toilet after a burrito, the eclipse is laughable compared to the old GSX and GSTs, in terms of both power and handling, their SUVs are walked all over by Nissan, Honda, and Toyota, and the i is going to be a huge failure.
Tl;dr: if Mitsubishi exists in 15 years I'll be really surprised, they've been going downward for the past little bit and can only get worse with the death of the eclipse.

i dont really like the show. plus the ratings are crap for the show too.
and mitsubishi wont go away they are a huge company and they rank higher in reliability then most other companys, with the exception of porsche and other japanese companies. plus mitsu sales have been up this year.

I bought an Eclipse because I love it and its a great car. I didnt buy it and then go, Oh wait! Now that I have this I am forced to be a fanboy. No. Its a solid car, that stands up to the comp. Its a hell of a lot better of a car than my 2010 Mustang I had. I took it offensively because they probably havent even driven a 4g

Trim for trim, the 4th Generation of Eclipse is a MUCH more powerful car. You simply are going with the flow on that comment about them being more powerful. Also, the 4G Eclipse is a much better stock handling car than any 1G or 2G. AWD doesn't make your handling epic. It's the suspension setup that is on it. 2G's stock have rediculous amounts of body roll and will slide all over the place if you don't watch yourself. When I got my stock 4G I didn't see that problem nearly as much due to advancements in suspension since the early/late 90's to now. Now, another thing alot of people don't understand about the 4G63, is that it's been around since the damn 1970's. Of course there is a HUGEEEEE aftermarket for it. It's been around for almost 40 damn years! I do agree with you about the Twin Clutch SST crapmission that they are putting in the current Evolution. Now, I wouldn't exactly say thier SUV's are junk. I believe it was the Outlander Sport that just broke like 7 World Time records for racing on snow/ice/water or something. Mitsubishi is not just a car company. They're a MASSIVE conglomorate of smaller divisions. They wouldn't ever let thier auto division die, won't happen. Now, could I see it dwindling down ALOT more in the US. Of course, because the US just isn't a huge market for their cars. Look at the rest of the world though. Mitsubishi is a top automaker in many other places. Quote:

I'm an evo driver and I admit that the SST transmission has its flaws (overheating, etc.)usually happens when you abuse it, launch often .most of it could be solved by installing aftermarket parts (cooler, clutchpack, etc.). I can't say its shitty though, it shifts smoothly and has its advantages. Bottom line I enjoy driving it. What makes u say it's shittier than a fat guy's toilet after a burrito? have u driven one? I don't mean to sound rude. I just want to know your reasons. MMNA might have a weak market but that doesn't mean it'll cease to exist in 15 years. They are huge in other countries.

Our cars hold up like a guy on PCP in accidents. What other sports cars can you completely destroy and walk away with only scratches. Overall the Eclipse is a great car, I bought it for many reasons, the look is great, the performance is good, the safety is awesome.

I also disagree about the suv comment. Ok maybe not about the Endeavor which is outdated, especially the interior.
but the Outlander... Decent power for the size, nice handling, one of the best awd systems, paddle shifters, a little bit better interior than the standard mitsu interiors (for the gt's anyways), nice style (imo) I dont think theres many small suvs that can compare to the outlander for the price. but I do own one so I am biased. And as stated Mitsubishi has been going up in sales the last couple years. But I am afraid to see whats going to happen with the loss of the eclipse, galant, endeavor, and evo.

I saw that episode a while back (the american version of the carshow is shit IMO the british one is awesome) they said "Mitsubishi is trash down the toilet Evo's are good blah blah" I heard it got sad for a bit then was like fuck it I love my car and some snobby ass guy who can't stay in one career (Mr. Corolla) isn't going to change my mind about my 4G and I second the safety on these things. They may weigh as much as a tank but they sure hold up like one too Dammit

And I thought I was the only one that rememberd this. No one talks about this anymore yet crankwalk was a HUGE deal back in the day!
I can't agree more with everyone stating the 4g is the fastest eclipse ever produced from the factory, so many people overlook this because it wasn't in the Fast and the Furious like the 2g and 3g and people think the 2g was soo fast. Sure you can tune it because it was turbocharged. But technologically advanced as the mivec is, it is a pretty beast motor with a whole lot of displacement. Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races. Plain and simple

Only in the 1995-1999 Eclipse GST/GSX did this happen due to a change in design from a 6 bolt crank to a 7 bolt crank. The extra bolt in the mix unbalanced things just too much.
