Dumb Thermo Block installation question....

So I just got my intake manifold Thermo Block gasket in -- should I spray some copper gasket on this thing to seal it up good like the regular gasket, or just put it on straight with no sealant?

Thanks for helping my stupidity....

u only need it on the tb spacer for positioning purposes. it is not necessary on the manifold

Its a kind of like "might as well do it while I'm here" kinda think because to install the spacers you have to take the manifold off and since you have to remove the manifold to reach the spark plugs too you might as well kill two birds with one stone

u can remove the spark plugs without removing the manifold. just pull out the coils and unscrew the plugs

While we're on the subject, I have a set of Denso iridium plugs that the Autozone guy said were the best I could get for my car -- anybody have any opinion on this? What do YOU think are the best plugs for our car? Non-aspirated of course....

I think those are but everyone has their own opinion but the consensus is that NGK one step colder are for the FI guys and the Densos are the best for NA's they're like 25 bucks right?

Yeah, something like that I think 28 with tax. I've heard some people talk about Pulstars so I didn't know if they were supposed to be better or what. It probably doesn't even really matter honestly....

NGK, Pulsar , Denso eh everyone will have opinions until someone blows a couple hundred on the dyno to prove this. If you like them and the butt dyno is happy I call it a win

stay with the stock NGK Iridium plugs. no need to go one step colder unless ur running boost. with the mods u have u should remain at the stock heat range. as long as u r NA, NGK Irudium is optimum for ur vehicle. i personally would never stray from the ngk ix

lol the reason people said to change plugs while you're there is because on the GT the intake manifold has to be removed to access the rear spark plugs.

Since you have a GS this is obviously not the case.

These cars are outfitted with NGK IR plugs from the factory. Don't downgrade to Denso. If anything keep them NGK and go with the Laser Iridium or the IX

I did.....used spray on copper coat. I stripped two of my intake bolts (dumbass forgot how to use my micrometer torque wrench) and still haven't had a leak. That could well change when i start boosting
