Need 4G real user Review
Hi! Hi!
every one! I'm a new comer, and i'm out of US i'm in Lao PDR (a country in south east asia). So I'm interested in the 4G Eclipse GT, So I have read many reviews from many sites, some are good some are bad. Before I buy one I'd like to know the truth about the GT from the real user not advertising or fake reviews from other motors company. Well, I'd like to know about Its handling, they say the gt is understeer, isn't it? and too much steer torque? etc. ![]() If I've got one i'm not going to mod it just get eye rids for headlights, i'll drive stock GT, Does it fun to drive? does it suitable for daily driving? what about when driving very quick? I just want to know the GT well before I have it in my garage, I'd to test drive but my country Mitsubishi isn't selling eclipse, i have to order. So I need the truth, Evo performance is good but I don't like a sedan ps. It's a very beautiful car, really ![]() |

It is fun to drive. Gas economy is not good. 20mpg driving 70%highway/30%city. Torque steer is there, but the car is not made for drag strips. The tires break loose from the pavement before torque steer becomes hard to control. Interior has some cheap materials. Dashboard and door panels will vibrate. Stock tires suck, wear out way too fast and I didn't find the grip to be that great. Stock brakes are ok, good quality aftermarket ones better (RRE sells Centric Slotted rotors and ceramic pads). Easy to change the oil, not sure about heavier maintenance, I haven't done any to my car yet.
Final thoughts... Is it worth the money for a new one? No. Got mine brand new and now regret not spending the money on something different. The car is great, but definitely other stuff out there that would be more fun to drive (not necessarily look better though..) than an Eclipse. If you can find a used one with low miles and good owner, it's a good deal. |

Jesus I love my gs but I can't imagine having a GT I guess your looking for completely honesty here and some down sides are which I'm sure alot of people will say there's not a huge market for shit for our cars. Idk if it's just me but I would rather drive my eclipse than my moms cts or my dad STs because I just have more fun the car turns heads all day and you can fck kids in races with jut minor bolts on. No one expects a eclipse to mov that fast. I would chose a Sti/ evo over a eclipse but if you can't afford the 35k eclipses are an amazing car and I'd suggest it that's just me

well, if you want an eye candy for you and the misses around you, there's nothing like the Eclipse, enough said...
performance wise, yes it's a (somewhat) high-powered FWD heavy car, so you will get understeer and torque steer, but it's easily manageable... you can get simple mods to address that for less than $ 300 total and install yourself... but even in stock form, it's a sweet car... would i buy another one? YESSS ! Brand new? maybe not... it's definitely not the best sports car out there, but without a doubt it is the sexiest !!! from what i've heard the 2011/2012 sound really good (exhaust) even stock... if the Eclipse is not sold in your country, get one for sure ! it will such a head-turner, you'll love it ! good luck, keep us posted ! |

Not sure what the winters are like by you, but one advantage the eclipse has over other sports cars is FWD.. That was one of the biggest deciding factors for me, living in illinois..
If I didnt have to worry about the snow, I would probably be driving a genesis coupe turbo... That being said, after modding my car from stock, I am very happy with it( I have a GS) GT is better but a lot more $$$...Good Luck!!!

3 things i would definately do if you bought the car.k&N typhoon sri (no worries of hydro lock),3rd cat delete(if your state will allow)and at least a throttle body bypass.that should pep things up just enough over stock for some satisfying performance for you.these cars are severely choked down from the factory and they need to breathe.

Question, how are your roads and do you live in a crowded city?
My GT is my daily driver but I live in a suburban/city setting with very little chances of making sharp turns. You say you live in SE Asia so my question would be if your roads (streets) are tight and you live in a city with A LOT of people, the wide turning radius of the 4G will not be the best for you. I lived in Tokyo and Seoul and I can't think of driving this thing in either city.... As for the GT itself, understeer is managable but really you're buying for the looks and some power where something like an evo/sti you're buying for the power not the looks (per say). Daily driving has not been a problem and I agree with other people here regarding buying a used one. From what I can see (and have read), my car probably had a bit of things to fix in the first 3 years or so that was probably done already by the time I bought it, saves you some trouble if getting to the dealership will be a problem for you.. which is another thing... IS there a mitsubishi dealership with service center you can get to where you live. |

I live in Vientiane and there r only 2 mitsu service centers, one is a dealer. Mitsu isn't a famous brand here. So it's unique. |
