60k Tune Up. Please Help
Hey everyone. Im new to the site and just want to say in advance, sorry if this is a repeated topic. Ive looked it up and seen a few threads that cover some of this, but none have covered it completely or they do not match up with each other.
I recently bought a 2006 Eclipse GT. I bought it with 63,XXX miles on it. Now it has almost 65,000 miles. I just found out about the 60,000 mile tune up that is needed for this car . What all NEEDS to be done. So far this is what i think is needed, correct if i am wrong and add something if i do not have it Replace: Timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, Auto Trans Fluid flush, and get valves adjusted. Also how much should this cost around? I probably will not go to a dealership to get this done because there is a reliable mechanic in my town (should be less expensive). Thanks in advance and again, sorry if this is repeated, im new to this. I need this tune up quick, already 5000 miles over, so please help me out. ![]()

I went to the dealer for the 60k and it was a little more than $1000 and this is what they did: The last 2 items are unrelated

Mine is coming maybe next year I'm at 53K now. Plus I have GS so lower bill but most of the stuff I'll do my self. I'll let the dealer do just timing belt, tranny flush, and valve adjustment. I do my oil changes my self anyways and spark plugs its easy.
BTW water pump??? wtf??? |

MFTK: dang your luck. the 60k tune is whats gonna hurt the piggybank lol
Boomko: I might end up doing my spark plugs myself to save a little money. But about the water pump, alot of people say they get their water pump changed at the same time they get their timing belt changed. They do this because alot of the parts that need to be removed to get to the timing belt are the same parts needed to be removed as the water pump. So its gonna save on having to pay labor costs later on to get the same parts taken off for your water pump to be replaced later down the road. Atleast thats what ive heard from people. Mot700:Sounds like your at the same place as me (milage). i dont want to push much further either. The timing belt kit itself is not too expensive but the amount of labor that goes into replacing one of those is crazy. thats where alot of the money is going to go

consider also the timing belt tensioner for the same reason as the water pump.

Snoeclipse: Ill have to look into that. never really heard that one needing to be replaced, but it couldnt hurt to do so? as long as it isnt too expensive to put on and stuff
MFTK: i wish i had that lol. labor is the worst part haha
