Racing Seats
So I'm looking to swap over to a set of racing seats, I've been looking at the NRG seats, because they are quality and are price efficient. The problem is I'm not sure if I want reclinable or fixed. I sit practically straight up as it is, so a fixed wouldn't be a problem for me, but I'm concerned about my passenger seat.
Anyone here have any first hand experience input to throw at me with any recommendations? |

I think nrg sells in single seats so you could go fixed and reclined. But if this is you daily driver the you may want to go reclined. If your going with harness then you are going to lose a lot of the reclined.

Honestly man your gonna have to sit in the seat you want before you buy it. Each one has different size specs, and each person is different. I'm a short guy but I'm pretty broad 5'6'' at 170 and I pretty much shoehorn myself into my buddy's racing seat. Honestly it would be a perfect fit if I wore a t-shirt and I was actually racing, but not otherwise cuz I'm starting to spill out of its shoulder area. He fits in it a completely different way and he's 6'1'' 190. Then I hop in my stock seats and feel like a child. Its really one of those things you should test before you buy. And if its a daily driver a bucket is gonna get old getting in and out of all the time, not to mention the sweaty balls and swamp ass you'll get.
Also don't forget that your seat is a major safety feature in your vehicle so don't pinch pennies when it comes to buying them, they're pretty important. Cobra makes pretty good seats and some nice recliners too.

As for recliners, I have heard some bad things about them in general (parts breaking, seats collapsing in accidents, etc.) I've heard that the fixed backs are quite a bit safer, and will be using harnesses as well with my harness bar, so a recliner won't serve much of a purpose for me other than access to behind the seats for storage. As for auto city's seats, yeah they may be nice seats, but I'm looking to go with a more reputable brand (NRG, Sparco, Recaro, Bride, etc.) and NRG is the most affordable at the moment, while not sacrificing safety features and build quality. |

Let's go this week/end and look at some seats. There are a few places that have a good variety.
I'll even put my seat back in and you just ride with me.
