Valve Lash Adjustment for a V6
I searched but couldn't find a good answer for this. I need to know have it done by a professional, so I was wondering how many hours this job requires. And how much should it cost?
I tried to do it myself, but I didn't do a very good job - only made it noisier. ![]() |

Sorry for the bump, but I came back because I'm still looking for an answer. Bringing the car to a dealer next week.
It took 6 hours for an average person to do it, but how many hours is it for a professional Mitsubishi tech? |

Just thought I would update this for anyone else who's looking for an answer.
Dealer Quoted ~$900 (all day labor) - refused Local Shop $656 (with tax) -3.5 hrs of labor All Mitsubishi Parts: -Valve Covers Gaskets + Spark Plug Hole Seals -Intake Plenum Gasket -6 New NGK Spark Plugs (iridium) Engine sounds like new, which makes me feel good. p.s.: Those parts add up to around $180 if bought online. So if you can find a shop that will accept your parts, you can get it done much cheaper. On the other hand, they can refuse all responsibility if anything goes wrong afterwards. So that's why paying a premium is part of the insurance package. Last edited by mrbooby; March 28th, 2012 at 09:03 PM. |
