Voted.....My new wheels had a setup where the valve came out of the rim and made a right turn through part of the face of the rim (Gram Lights).....swapping in the old TPMS was not an option.

I don't have tpms thank god. And switching sensors or messing with them in any way is a federal offense fyi.

im pretty sure we all got them since 2008 its a law. the U.S. Department Of Transportation requires an installation of a Tire Pressure Monitoring System to all new passenger cars. theres two types Indirect and Direct. its not a federal offense.

Those sensors break too easily and get expensive to replace. So...

Remove all the sensors, get like a ProCal, turn the system off.
Or
Remove all the sensors, and live with the light. (!)

I have an 07 and don't have them. And i went to class for this, look it up. Tampering with a tmps system including replecing the sensors with valve stems is illegal.

It is a federal offense, because of course we need more useless junk in the law books, but thankfully how many officers know this? How many are going to tow your car, have a wheel removed and unmount the tire just to check? It's yet another highly unenforceable (and therefore pointless) law.

I don't encourage breaking the law. But I do encourage weight reduction, and the few ounces this will save you is definitely worth sticking it to the man.

when i first had my winter tires put on, the shop told me "it could affect the ABS / TCL systems"...
i'm like, oh yeah...

bottom line is, i never noticed anything wrong with not having TPMS, other than the light...

i dont see it really being a problem cause how are they gonna know if u go to a local shop that your aftermarket wheels are suppose to be sporting the sensors cause your car came factory with them and you never changed them over to the new wheels unless you tell them, now a dealer might know if you brought it up but their not gonna make a issue of it unless their assholes....

stupid law, they didnt have sensors years ago and it wasnt a conscern now its a freakin liability issue cause were to lazy to check the tire pressure every once and awhile, guess its the same issue as running no cats but whats it matter unless your town does inspection, where i live they dont..... we all risk things like too dark of tint, ill exhaust, now its running no sensors lol, double dins hacked to play video without parking brake, we all break the law, fuck em

i have em and i like em.tells me when i have a tire going down so i can do something about it instead of going all the way flat and destroying a rim at interstate speeds.the tps's are in my second set of rims now with zero problems.only time my light comes on is when tire pressure is below 32psi.

edit:which is never cause i run 38 psi
