Did I get Scammed by EclipseJunky?

Anybody know Eclipse Junky? I've been trying to get hold of him but haven't heard anything. I paypal'd him 100 for a lower grille and after a few pm's he said he'd send me a tracking number, yup you guessed it seven days later nothing. I'm hoping this is just a misunderstanding as he has been a long term member of this site, so if anybody cares to vouch for him let me know or i'm going to submit a claim with paypal to get my money back. Thanks.

Yeah I read in some older threads about scams and noticed Mitspy mentioning EclipseJunky and scamming ironically about a grille as well, WTF?

Why hasn't this dude been banned from the site? Or his profile black listed or some sh*t?

While your bullsh*t'n I move to have him and anyone else who has been found guilty of scamming banned. We don't need that kind of reputation do we?

Pedro...I bought some headlights from him. I have yet to receive them however he did state that he tested them out and the angel eye ring he has on there shorted out or something like that. He stated was going to fix them and I told them I wanted them in hand by the 1st of September. Have not heard much from him since. He did message me back after about 3 weeks though and explained. Hopefully he just has not been on in a while but then again I dont really know but he did make contact after sometime so hopefully he has just been busy.

If it makes you feel better, I sent payment to Dark Cangri on the 13th. He said he'd give me a tracking number, but despite emailing and PMing him, it took him 10+ more days to give it to me. He said I was being "rude" because I was asking for a tracking number he shoulda gave me when he shipped it and said he wouldnt give itto me unt I was polite (are you fucking serious). Then he posted the tracking number on an open forum for the whole wide interwebs to see.

On top of that, the only update it has had in the last ten days says that it was accepted at the post office he dropped it off at.

Wow, that's kinda the same way this dude was with me, he told me, "I was busy moving...next time you should wait till you know the story before you start posting in the forum that someone is scamming you." I was like dude you told me you were putting it in the mail tomorrow and then seven days later I haven't heard from you, nor have you logged on since that time, and I find a thread with your name on it talking about the fact that you are a scammer...Duhhhhh what do you think i'm gonna think, hmmm? I got scammed? Anyway, he says he shipped it today and gave me a tracking number, I'm waiting to see if I get a box of shitty underwear or the grille I ordered. We'll see.

Dude that is seriously frustrating, how hard is it to communicate the truth to someone who has paid you for a product. All you gotta say is look I'm a lazy ass and I'm going to need you to nag me until you get it? Because some of these mugs on this site aren't going to be as patient as say you or I. I can tell you I was not about to let him keep my 100 bucks and just say oh I got got. Well anyway I'm gonna stop there bc he says he mailed it so whatever...Man I wish you lots of luck. If you don't get the lights you should take him to small claims court. That what I was getting ready to do.

Uhh.. I have sold quite a few things on this forum, and all of you have received your items (except for the headlights). I also stayed in contact with most of you guys via phone, email, and PMs on here. I was busy moving, actually have moved twice in the past six months, and I just parted my car out (no longer have the eclipse). I am not a company, I don't have staff, I work two full time jobs, and I have a family. Sorry I don't jump on top of shipping an item in the first 24 hours. I gave each of you my phone number, and I texted most of you to let you know what was going on.

Anyways, again I say.. I have sold more than two items on this forum, I have also purchased SEVERAL items off other members. The grill I apologize (and the carbon fiber front cover) took awhile to ship out cause you two both purchased it at the same time I was moving.

As far as the headlight situation; the material we used to make the halos actually started melting when we tested it in the headlight... They aren't supposed to even start bending unless it's at 350 degrees... so, we are unsure whats up, and mitsspy you will probably just get a refund and a large apology. But at least we tested it before I sent it to you.. heh :\

Pedro, you need to seriously calm yourself. I would have loved for you to try to even take me to small claims court. How old are you? Do you need the legal costs for something like that (I do, I have actually taken people to small claims court). Not to mention:

- No contract
- Money sent as gift
- No estimated time for shipping
- Item was purchased on a forum
- I live in another state with different laws
- and etc...

Please, keep it civil. You got your item, you had all my contact information, you need to chill out. Also, you told me via email "you're sorry for bad mouthing me, and you will remove your comments when I shipped it". I have yet to see your side of the deal kept.

Sorry everyone, don't worry I wont be on here any longer.

Edit: That would be have been awesome to do.. Put used underwear to wrap the grill in.. good idea for the next time I plan to "scam" someone. Also, get your times straight.

People do have lives... Some busier than others lol, but none the less communication should always be kept and customer service always held as top priority.

To answer your question, we have a few people that have scammed and are still on the site. BUYER BEWARE, we now have a feedback system but people fail to use it. Go hit his feedback up after you dispute the charge, and I encourage everyone else to do the same

Wow LMAO.

For anyone doing business with anyone in the future, this is not how you handle the situation.

We don't need people with this type of attitude on our site.

Mattman, im sorry it just pissed me off to seriously have someone say take me to small claims. I was an active, tried to be helpful, tried to be respectful, member to this community that represented and loved this community and I get spit on like that. Shit happens, sorry.

I understand you perspective... but have you tried putting yourself in the buyers shoes? yeah it sucks to have someone trip out on you. but who i am to know the truth of the transaction (some people have unrealistic expectations, i know)... but put yourself in his shoes and ask yourself "if this was happening to me, how would i feel." I have been on both ends, so i understand both sides respectively. shit happens, you can only do what you can do ("under promise, over deliver" comes to mind). Im sure if it gets resolved he will update accordingly. as for the other side, as a customer buying online, you always fear the WHAT IF. am i gonna screwed, am i really getting what was advertised etc. as a seller all you have in this environment is a reputation.

im in sales and you always have to be aware that, however unfortunate it is, the customers (and yes he is your 'customer') perception is his reality. if he's unhappy or something isn't up to HIS standards, be sure, they will bitch about it until something gets fixed. Wouldn't you? i sure as hell would.

believe it or not this would be a small claims court issue. hence: small claims. but i see what your saying, it cost more money to bring it to court, instead most people mark it as a lost and forever hold a bad taste about online sales. which only hurts all of us in the long run. i was simply stating that the flippant attitude you seemed to have towards someone who bought a product from you, who influences how others perceive your reputation, and ultimately someone who will use the feedback system to rate you; did not seem to have a sympathetic or apologetic feel to it. in fact i got the feeling that you didnt care, as if you where saying "so what you wont do shit if i steal your money." again im on the outside looking in, but for what its worth, i wouldnt do biz with someone with that attitude... no matter what the price of it is

take car and i hope you stick around the forum in the future

This is why I don't buy p2p through online forums. Too many amateur sellers. Whether they ultimately ship the product or not, that's a whole different issue but the amount of frustration these sellers offload on the buyer only strengthens my belief.

On the defense of the sellers, these guys are often young and don't understand the process. They can't even put themselves in the shoes of the buyers because for many, they've never been on the other side of the fence or be able to manage responsibility.

The p2p buyers should be smart enough to research the seller first (prior complaints, easy to talk to, age, etc etc) and expect crappy service irregardless of the outcome. There is no BBB to hold the sellers accountable, there is no law that says EclipseJunky is wrong because this is a case of civility, and as a result, EclipseJunky isn't doing anything wrong ... to himself.

I agree. Although civil/small claims is not my forte, I'm not confident it would be a civil issue. I'd like to research this and find out for sure. To assist me do you have any sources backing this? My concern is it would be verbally (written) agreed to be a sale and it's over state lines I assume. Ehhhh like I said not my forte, so please correct me if I'm wrong

Dude that's actually true but I'm also waiting to see the condition of the item sent, I was actually planning on posting exactly what happened and bring everything to a close, however I have'nt recieved it just yet it is due to arrive tomorrow. If all goes well then like I said I would set the record straight.

Furthermore as stated to you and on here I waited 7 days after our last convo, and there was no mention of a delay due to you moving and you hadn't even logged on. I was well within my right to post the situation and ask the question I did? Did I get scammed. Mind you, you had 100 bucks the same day I pm'd you. Where I'm from if you pay someone for something the deal is you keep me informed on any delays. Period.

And it's not like I just posted without doing my homework, I searched the site and found a post in a thread about scammers with your name all over it. So like I said after 7 days, I made my move.

Tomorrow if I come home and my grille is here looking like the photo you posted I'm stoked and I have to give you a "A" plus for product and "C" for follow up. I told you I have no hard feelings, it's just business, and between fellow members there should be now bad business. I paid, you ship. Easy as 123.

All things considered I have nothing more to add, other than the condition it arrives in, that is...but I just wanted to say I never meant to spit on another member as he puts it.

It comes down to this I have my experience, and you have yours, we can only move on and either choose to sell and/or buy in the future, or not.

Pedro, just to add to this the post where you saw "my name all over it" for scammers.. I am not sure but I never have even sold anyting except for:

- CF front bumper piece (which got damaged by UPS, and they are working on refunding)

- Grill (which I sold to you)

and

- Headlights (which I haven't shipped yet and will probably be refunding cause the halo ring had melted)

So, I am not sure what I "scammed"...

man i think what hes trying to get at, is maybe you didnt scam him, he was just lookin for info cuz the things you were doing, your actions with the selling of the grill to him made him uneasy on it, and he wanted to get other peoples oppinions. it looks to me like you made your case and it might have been a mistake, but what ive been seeing with a LOT of these posts, and with deals i have made myself, is the main problem...COMMUNICATION! if your gona sell something, you should be in contact with your buyer EVERY DAY at least. weather or not things are going 100% perfect or something screwed up, that way they know whats going on and arent left in the dark. i know WHENEVER i try to do ne buissness i give either the buyer, or person who is buying from me. my cell phone number that way if they EVER need to get ahold of me for ANYTHING they can. it seems like it was just poor salesmanship man...nothin to get bent outta shape about.

Still waiting, apparently it's here in Cali somewhere but still marked as intransit...I'm hoping it comes today but we'll see, either way I expect it will show up in the condition EJunky says it will, otherwise I don't expect he would be defending himself here, and ultimately that is my hope, that this was just all a series of unfortunate events and it is going to end in a good light, for all involved.

Yeah I will say I lacked in the communication department, I admit to that mistake.

You saw the pics Pedro, that's how I shipped it.. Well, minus all the tape and bubblewrap, and shrink wrap.

Nice in that case I can't wait till it arrives, I hope after it does arrive we can put by-gones behind us and like I said before be smarter for the experience. After it does arrive I will do what I can to clear up what ever slander I may have caused during this transaction.

Update: So the package was supposed to arrive on 05aug10 and has yet to arrive...the UPS tracking tool online says it stopped in Le Grande, CA. but know one can tell me why, so now UPS is telling me the only way to find out is by having the seller contact them and begin an investigation to track the package. I sent Eclipsejunky a message and now the waiting game begins again.

To his credit, EclipseJunky is working with me and contacting the post office to get them to investigate the break down in the process, UPS verified the address with me and everything sound right but for some reason the package has stopped in La Grande, Ca...hopefully UPS will find the problem and hook us up with some follow up on the drama.

I get the feeling this grille might be cursed, what if I install it on my car and it causes me to get in an accident or fall off a cliff or something. Hahaha.

Man I was going to...but I feel like EJ and I just had a communication problem, the fact that he diffended his name restored my faith so to speak. I mean you gotta have some balls to rip a member off and then get back online and defend yourself against the accusation. (strictly speaking from the stand point of whether he were guilty of actually scaming me.)

Anyway we are close to this thing ending...I'm hoping the post office is just f'ing it up and the box arrives...so we all can get on with our lives.
