i think vortech makes a supercharger, RIPP does as well

turbo will prob have to be custom

As of right now Ripp is the only place you are going to get a kit from. There are no turbo kits from anyone. My build has just been put on hault due to lack of larger injectors being available for my for the car. I've called around but no use. I might just end up having to go N/A or nitrous. Leaning towards a 100-150shot. I havent went into extensive research, but just from what I know and have seen about this car, my guess is that it can handle a 150shot. With basic bolt ons you should be around 165-185whp with a tune and depending on the dyno. Soo with n2o that should put you at around 425whp. Which is right were people are with Ripp's stage 2 kits. Get a wet shot and you really shouldnt need injectors, tune is optional with a good setup (I didnt use one with my 3g and it ran fine for almost a year before I took it off), its not a constant thing like a sds or turbo (though you can stay out of boost with those, but whose going to drive like a slug all the time). The only thing is with this engine stand up to the shock of the sudden boost in power? I think soo, if I want to be totally safe I could always just get a system set up to gradually increase. And my other isue would be the fuel pump, but there are two ways to handle that. One is to get a seperate pump to handle fuel from the tank which I dont think I would do with car. And the other is just get a bigger pump. But I figure since it can handle even sending enough fuel to handle two extra injectors in other setups and since it comes out the factory rich then hey it has fuel and psi to spare, soo I should be fine there.

Back to your issue at hand though. Ripp is the only makers of a supercharger kit, but I believe the supercharger they use is Vortech though. The easy way to get a turbo would be to get a slightly quick spooling turbo the built you a remote turbo kit (I have full instructions on how to to that to this car, dont ask why.....). You could also get a custom turbo kit built. But be prepared for lots of down time and to spend lots of money. I looked into doing a custon supercharger kit, but it would have been a major pain with this car, but it can be done. Well to me it would have been a pain, finding a shaft to turn the compressor from opposite side of the engine, I hate messing with the belt on these cars. My last Eclipse I had to take off the passenger wheel and inner wheel well cover just to get a little access to it.

There is larger injectors available, there is even a set for us on Ripps website.

If I had the money, I would run a stage 2 SDS setup with an upgraded clutch and LSD. I would love to see what that would put down on the 1/4 mile.

i think a custom turbo set up would be cooler than a supercharger kit

but im a fan of turbos over superchargers...i just think they sound cooler

well yea supercharger you get the whine and turbo you get the blow off but such a powerful car for FWD is kinda dumb in my opinion..... but i just wish some company would get the ball rolling i mean i have had my gt since june of 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm new (and foreign) but there is a company in Australia that is looking at a supercharger kit option to suit a 6G75 engine.

They have one already suited to 6G74's which are essentially the same motor, and they believe it may simply be a matter of adjusting the existing kit.

Not sure if it would work for you guys, as we got the SOHC variant of the '75 and you have the MIVEC.

The company is Raptor superchargers. If anyone wanted details to contact them, feel free to PM me.

why doesn't any one copy the basic lay out of the VR4 which I have and just make custom piping? I own a 97 3k VR4 and was thinking about maybe getting a new eclipse gt only if I was able to make the 3.8l twin turbo but I'm not hearing any one giving a f*&k about trying it. This thing I hear about there being no injectors is crap because you can go to any 3k site and use there upgraded injectors. Is there just not any room for the turbos in the back to of the engine or is it that the new block can't handle the boost... in which case you do it right and have the interals forged.?. Or is the block it's self to weak? I'm sorry but I don't know much about the new design as I've been only in the 6g72/74 world.

That's old news man. Pretty much the same story with every model of Eclipse, especially the last model.

the question is do you want to be just another person who owns the same old car or some one that owns some thing different. Plus when you do, do some thing to your car that makes you all that more different from every one else. That is why I own a 3k VR4 and is very custom. I say go with the car that "YOU" like and stick with it!
