To flare or not to flare, that is the question

Hey guys,

I'm just looking to get some opinions on fender flares to make a wide body Eclipse. From looking at other members photos, fender flares are hard to blend in with the rest of our cars body lines. I'm in favor of the ITZ brand flares over other styles. I don't plan on purchasing ITZ's flares because I prefer to make my own, but I'm just trying to give you guys a idea of whats happening in my head. Please hoist your opinions and leave me feed back. Please also take into consideration of my current body kits and how fender flares would effect the overall look. When or if I begin to make my flares, I will end up making each individual flare either 2IN or 3IN wide, effectively making the Eclipse overall 4IN to 6IN wider.

Maybe try a 1-1.5" to see if it fits our bodies better i think thr others look too wide for our already wide round look but that could be just me

I'm only putting your build thread here to make it easy to compare the pictures.Road renegade build thread

I personally don't like either of the Wide body kits for the 4g. There was someone (not a member) who made a custom kit. 3 actually. Currently he used the fenders off a 350 which look better than the kits you posted. I found him on instagram. https://www.instagram.com/drowzyeclipse/. So far this is my favorite kit that he retrofitted for the 4g. Don't know how far you're willing to go as far as customizing it but maybe looking for something from different cars would work better if not fit the style you want to go with better.

I totally understand why 3 inches might be too much. Maybe 1.5IN or 2IN would settle better. Here is a photo of a old members ride who has the ITZ flares. Thanks for the input so far guys. When it comes to kits and fiberglass I'm not afraid. I'm thinking I'm probably try my hand at using foam and sculpting everything by hand then fiber glassing the rest.Untitled.jpg
