today there was a gang related shootout in the islands where a 14 year old tourist girl was murdered.....it has been on the news and such but i thought I would bring it to attention to you all and see what you all think about it...this is where i live and what i deal with on a constant basis

That is fucked up VI you would think that people would evolve instead of regress. Obviously not good for business in a place that generally thrives on tourisim. Sounds as though some local ass whooping is in order. Sooooo when you coming back to Jersey?

i dunno i might need to return the favor before i make my way back to the states......but this is outta control...its one thing when we are killing ourselves down here the second a tourist gets killed the cats outta the bag...and now most of the us can now know that we have the highest murder rate per capitas in the US

Well DC had that honor for a few years back in the day, and despite that it is a tourist area its not a percieved paradise such as the Islands. People are supposed to be chill not whackin people

Unreal....paradise lost! I never would have guessed...especially the U.S. Virgin Islands. What a tragedy and a travesty of justice to only get air time when a tourist gets killed. I was jealous of where you were living...not so much now. My home town where I spent approx. 45 years of my life Raleigh, NC and the capital of the state which became so screwed up I moved out in the country. At least now when I hear gun shots it some good 'ol boy shooting beer cans, hunting , or a father teaching his son about weapons. My old home town has shooting and stabbings every day now. I don't depend on the police to do anything but write out a report if I get killed so on my property...I'm the law and I am prepared to defend myself!

It is very sad. This is a headline here on PR too, because the teen was a tourist from Aguada, Puerto Rico, celebrating her 15th birthday (here we celebrate their sweet 15, not 16). Very unfortunate.

This is happening everywhere, anytime. There's no "kill code" like the old days, where you couldn't shoot kids or people who weren't involved. No respect for innocent lives.

its gotten bad here but it used to be just idiots killing each other at night....but now its broad daylight who cares what happens type killing and innocents are getting involved....i think the cops should teach everyone how to shoot for free so that way all these idiots will only kill who they mean to

as sad as this particular story is. its everywhere.
general rule of thumb. when it gets hot at night. stay out of the city. same thing has happened here.

i live by an indian reservation. and as of the last month or so. those who have friends there are being told to stay clear because there's 2 assholes with high power riffles hiding out in the woods. they're wanted for shooting at cops. they might start shooting at .. anyone.. whenever they feel like it.

the value of life is slowly fading.

Killers are killers, they dont have codes. Yeah, they frown upon the murder of women and children. Anyways, she was caught in the crossfire, not intentionally sought after. A difference between intentionally killing a child and or woman, but sad situation nonetheless.
