Curiousity hit me again

I feel like a spammer posting all these questions on the forums, I apologize everybody..
Just curious if this concept would work, I have my front bumper plasti dipped..Im getting bored of the matte finish it leaves..would hitting the dip with a high gloss black work? would it be a glossy finish? Reason i ask this is because sometime int the long run i might not want the bumper painted anymore and go in a new direction, so I feel if i gloss the dip i can still strip the gloss black paint off when i dig in and pull the dip off..if anyone gets what i mean lol.

You can use tire shine on it and it will make it glossy for a while. It's just rubber so it has the same effect. It wears off so if you don't like it it will go away.

as far as this goes though like i said, find a plastic garbage can or something comparable to our bumper and give it a go

Impatients and modding does not go well together.. Im king of impatient! drives wifey nuts! but yeah like Jeff said test it out or like Ryan said use tire shine. my bumper is plasti dipped and Ive sprayed tire shine on it.. works well!

Let us know what happens. I've been thinking about hitting my rims with a gloss black over the plasti to make it look more classy.

Plastidip is a nonpermanent rubberized coating. Your best bet is to take it off and paint the bare bumper.

I know, thats why i like it..I don't want it permanently lol, hence why i wondered if i could spray a black gloss over the dip and then remove it with the dip whenever i felt like it

I think if i scuffed it with a scotch pad it would maybe tear into it, not sure..but the dip isn't a glossy finish, so no need to scuff it imo, but we'll see monday!

I'm not sure, I assume it's just clear plasti-dip with glossy clear mixed in. I'll be testing it tomorrow. Pics to come.

Phenom. You are now the resident plasti-dip man.

I christen you:

Sir-Plasti

Enjoy.

Anyway extremely useful link. This is perfect. I've been wanting something to add a glossy finish to my weather strips and rims without risking a paint/clearcoat combo and without having to continiously spray tirewet on them. Thanks
