i bought my eclipse gt about two to three months ago and was told all service was don to it and that it was never crashed. went to clean the engine bay, and noticed a couple odd things.
![]() 1. oil was low and kinda burnt. 2. when i got my allingment done they suspected that i was crashed, but though it was my springs that mad things odd. 3. several bolts and body clips misssing in engine bay and around the fenders. soo idk if to sell it and get an evo 8/9 or a gto or just suck it up and deal with it.. im going to call the seller today see what happens

I agree, if I could afford to upgrade to an EVO there wouldn't one thing that could stop me.

dont sell the Eclipse for that...
talk to the seller, get the truth out of him, and take it from there... tell him you KNOW it has been in an accident, even if you are not sure, and if you dont get full disclosure you'll call Obama directly to prosecute his ass. if the Eclipse is paid for, trading it in would be kinda dumb... change the oil, get it to a shop to check of any other major problems there might be, and go on... |

These cars are notorious for losing plastic clips, so just because of that I wouldn't suspect a wreck. Low oil shouldn't cause suspicion either. Just means you need to change your oil because the last person didn't put enough in. The alignment will naturally change, and if you have lowering springs, then it needs to be aligned directly after install if it wasn't then it's going to of course cause alignment issues. I'd stop freaking out. If you're worried it was wrecked, then check misalignments in body panels, look for creases or cracks in paint in or around the engine bay and fenders.

hmm, well my back bumper will sometimes stick out further, but I'll push it back into place. The lost bolts could had been lost if the previous owner modded and took shit off and put it back on. Do you have pics of what you are talking about that you can put up?

There's an app for that
![]() Really though, take similar bolts into the hardware store and buy some replacements. This car can be disassembled with an 10 and 12mm socket wrench with the occasional 8mm. |

Just also as a heads up. I wrecked my in May, did a good amount of damage, and did all the work myself and you can't hardly even tell.
before: ![]() ![]() You can't see under the hood. It bent my radiator support and pushed my radiator back a good amount, also bent my bumper and bumper brace. After: ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'd stick with the eclipse, and sue to the dealer for misrepresentation and possible hard done to your engine by not changing the oil as claimed.
Then take the money and mod like crazy
