Whats up with gas in the Southeast

Anybody knows first hand?

Im sure you know the simple answer...its due to the hurricane. about 20% of the nations gas is produced in the area around houston and SE Louisiana...Nearly all of the refiniries were shut down for close to a week, and it can take days to turn them back on and bring them back to full capacity. Whats really causing the problem is the off shore drilling platforms. Many of them were damaged and destroyed, and much like the refiniries it can take days to bring them back online at full capacity. So you have much less oil being piped onshore from the platforms, and therfore the refineries have less oil to make into gas. It could be an issue for many more weeks as Ike put a hurting on the platforms in the gulf.

The shell stations in San Antonio keep running out of gas, but other than that we havent had too many problems here...actually gas was 3.25 yesterday in a few spots...cheapest its been in a while

and for people like me that live further north in new england get to pay close to $4.00 for having it shipped so far.
but it was around 4.50 a few months ago. actually a lil higher than that

well i guess the price we all pay has to be compared with the average earnings in that area so me saying it was 4.50+/- and you saying its 5.87 may be similar compared to wages.

Its around $3.98/gal for reg by me. Unless my wife goes to buy it she will not pump it ant the only place that she goes the place charges for that service and use of credit card. So she pays (Us) about $4.50/gal reg

It was $1.56CDN per litre. 94. 92 is only 3c cheaper. I think regular was 1.44 or something.

Cosmetic and weight reduction mods this year. 2009 gets brakes, springs, etc. I like the 6G75 just like it is, the tranny really does need an LSD though.
