Nice!

Welcome, man

So how're you liking that CF trunk? If I may ask - any fitment issues? How's the finish mold on the weave? And has it resisted yellowing pretty well?

My bad... pardon the twenty-questions welcome

Thanks for the welcome As for the trunk, so far very please for the quality and the fitment is near perfect except the little area on the left side. Also, like silversniper mentioned, the plastic panels underneath the trunk does not fit at all but shops should be able to fix it up for you.

Sorry - which little area? Is it in the interior or outside?

Man... I need to take the trunklid panel off to see what it's all about under there I wonder how complicated it is.

You rock man!

Sorry to jack the thread with the questions. I'm debating getting one for the car considering I'm about a month to three weeks away from a paint job. But all I'd really want showing the weave is the piece exactly above the back glass, and the below the factory spoiler. The rest will be painted. So if it's cosmetic around those areas to be painted I'm really not worried about it

The only true performance gain from this upgrade would be weight redux.

Ewww... that sucks! And the other side fits like a glove? Just how huge is that gap to begin with? Hopefully nothing larger than 1cm. 1/4/" is fine.

Thanks for the reference shots man. I'm going to have to make a decision today about whether or not to get the trunklid myself - you've been most helpful!

eRep!

And yes... welcome!

Them are some nice calipers. Did they need repainted? It seems like every set I see needs a new paint job and I had to strip and paint mine... if you go to evolutionm.net they complain about it all the time.

Those headers do look good but the only thing I don't like is how it just sort of dumps the front flow into the rear instead of having a nice y-pipe.

I guess I'm a lucky one on the calipers. They have absolutely no chipping and just dirty. The guy i bought from on evolutionm.net had a car accident and his evo was close to new so that was why.

Cool deal! Hey, you could do the community a bit of a favor by noting the piston sizes on the front and rear calipers

Also... aren't the brake lines supposed to be unpainted? Looks like a paint job.

And to clean those, brake cleaner will work just fine

Ripp changed something on there headers. Look at the dump on the front header going onto the back....

now look at this older picture of their headers it is different...

I just think that is weird!

Hmmm... you're right - that does look strange. Definitely doesn't look like a smooth and free-flowing merge collector.

FYI, Hytech TRUE long tube, equilength headers for the 3G.

I wonder... :hmm:

Lawrence that is a nice looking set of headers!! I really like the step up on the runners and I would likely buy a set just like that for the 4g. I asked RRE if they would make a step up design like that but they never replied.

See, in my old world I could get in touch with people with the skills and equipment to do that kind of thing. The Hytechs are fully mandrel-bent, and you can see the quality of the design and build. They are EXTREMELY expensive though, and for a reason.

I suspect if you know anyone in plants (Houston is great for that kind of stuff) who does pipe fitting/welding that could easily be a fun project. Else a high end shop might just do it for a stiff fee.

I personally am too impatient to wait for aftermarket They shouldn't ultimately decide what's possible, if there are other options out there.

I think I like the wheels before the paint job.... but the car looks hot. Some tinted windows would go nice with it.
