Extremely easy! We didnt use the caliper kit-- I bought the DuplieColor Caliper Paint Spray-- it comes in a spray can like spraypaint. The hardest part was taking my wheels off cause the bodyshop that mounted and balanced my rims used an airtool to tighten the lugnuts.

All we did was use a few rags to cover the areas where we didnt want to paint, and just started spraying

--of course youre going to have to use brake cleaner (which also comes in a spray can) to clean the calipers before you paint them... if you happen to get paint anywhere where you dont want it, just spray it with the brake cleaner immediately and *pOoF*-- its gone!

ROOKIE-- LOL sorry!! I dont mean to ruin the "mood" haha

Well guys-- something real upsetting happened the other day.

I had the blue duplicolor caliper paint in my trunk for a few days, and Im in the process of moving for the summer and had my car packed so I had my back seats folded down-- somehow the spray can of paint fell into my back seat, and onto the floor.

My dad got an urgent phone call and had to use my car cause the trailor was attached to his truck-- well, he puts the seat back and hears this loud hissing noise and smells an odor... he jumps out of the car thinking an airbag popped or something.

As hes getting out of the car he notices blue paint being sprayed everywhere in my back seat, just in the air, spinning around, spraying my headliner, my custom colored leather seats, my carpet, the center console, the front seats, the door panels-- just EVERYWHERE!

Well-- after 4 hours of scrubbing withstraight M.E.K. and paint thinner, we got the majority of it out. It actually surprised me with how much came out. We managed to salvage the leather seats and the door panels and console-- but I have to get new headliner and new carpet. Ill post pics a little later of the current damage-- I dont have any of when it first happened when it was terrible-- I was too focused on getting the stuff off before it dried.

Sooooo-- my dad feels so much worse than I do, cause my first car he accidently backed it into something and put a huge hole into its bumper, and now this. Im just glad the can didnt dly up and hit him in the face or something-- its crazy. I guess with the heat and the pressure of the seat it just busted the can open...

damn thats sucks skittles, but im glad to hear the seats werent ruined. I gotten qoutes on a new headliner and its not too bad...100 to 120 bucks, plus you can get it in a darker color to match the rest of your interior. and carpet cant be that bad either especially if its just the back part. still sucks though, bot could have been much worse

When I first got my car I had the cloth seats gutted and chose a "Slate" color for the interior-- its like a dark blue/gray color and had that installed

Total damage costs just over 900-- thats to replace the carpet and the headliner. Its the front and back carpet which blows... but whatever, like you said, it really couldve been a lot worse. It couldve been when I was driving and caused an accident or something. Ill post the pics later, photobucket wont upload them

I tired ordering a darker color, and I wasnt able to unless I paid a lot more money cause they ordered the material pre-cut for the 07 eclipse. Oh well, I just hope Im able to get the blue tint off everything, its funny in a way, I gotta laugh about it-- otherwise Id cry hahaha

Im hoping to-- I know that this is going to lower the trade-in value of my car... unless a miracle happens and I get the blue tint off everything lol

Depending on financials and how much money Ill potentially loose-- Im going to wait till March-April of 09 to get the GT so the price drops since it wont be so "fresh"

That sucks to hear bout your car, Alethea... That's a lot of dough just for carpet and headliner. You sure you can't go to a custom upholstery place and get it done for cheaper? $900 sounds too steep IMHO...

Hope you get it all fixed/cleaned/back to new!

Thanks for the help J-- Ill have to try that!!

Kilzod-- thanks! The $900 does sound like a lot, but I did price it out and all and its the ceapest here. Plus my dad is good friends with the owner of the body shop so hes not charging the full rate for time/labor... it still sucks though! LOL

As far as the 09 GT goes-- it all depends on my financials at the time, the economy and how much Ill loose from the trade. To tell you the truth, Idk why Im still modding my car if Im planning on trading it next year-- I guess Im just too eager to finish my plans for it. Even if I do trade I can take most the parts off my car now and put it on the new one-- idk... but heres the interior pics of the paint-- AFTER 4 HOURS OF SRUBBING!!!
