Just took the cylinder heads from the spare motor into the machine shop today. When everything went back together a timing cover dowel landed on the timing gear, and the timing slipped... Here's the list... Hoping to be finished for the end of the month.

ARP Head studs $570
3 angle valve job + P&P
Ceramic coat coolant crossover
Valve springs - ford 3v springs
Stock retainers + keepers $0
2JZ valve stem seals $50
Head gaskets $210

Well as most of you can see the build pushed into the next month and with the amount of holidays coming. I'm only hoping it will be finished before the new year.

The machine shop had a few issues with the valve springs. They didn't have the correct tools on hand to cut the valve spring pockets. I decided to go against getting the ARP head studs to save a bit of money. Considering the compression isn't changing and i'm not likely to make my way into nitrous or FI.

The coolant crossover pipe as well as the thermostat housing was ceramic coated to help reduce engine bay temps yet again. And only paid a total of $100 for the paint this time.

Below is the list of things that need to be done. before and after the heads go back on the car.

machine valve spring pockets
re-assemble cylinder heads
re-install cylinder heads
FIX E BRAKE
CV SHAFT* - Warranty
fix front exhaust - Might need to be replaced completely to comply with local laws
replace leaky oil line for cooler
replace oil pressure sensor
install tires*
install and tune for new upper intake
install and tune for 3.5" MAF piping
automatic transmission cooler
replace blown transmission - hasn't happened yet... but it will...

I noticed on your first post you've got an oil catch can. Been thinking about installing one myself, does it pick up much oil?

I wouldn't be able to say from experience on an N/A car yet. Since I just installed mine and havent been back on the road yet, but I did one with a friend on a 2011 subaru wrx and the amount of oil in the intake was horrible. So much to a point where a small puddle would form. On my own car i noticed when i took off the intake manifold. It was covered in oil. absolutely covered. So I think it will be beneficial to the motor.
