Say goodbye to the Eclipse. After what will be a 24 year run...

I guess all we can hope for is some kind of last model bonus or special edition even though I doubt it'll happen. Hell, I was actually looking forward to the 25th anniversary of the Eclipse. I probably would have bought the model. It'd be neat to see them do a 25th anniversary of it AWD 4G63T with the new body style. Something similar to the Ralliart concept Eclipse. It won't happen though, so I'm not getting any kinds of hopes up.

it's a damn shame.....I think Mitsubishi is going down hill after this!! The line up right now is decent but look at Hyundai they offer more features and better looking interior for a cheaper price ......under the hood of a Mitsu is pretty solid but they need to step up the interior game ....the new lancer was a start ......but look at the 4g interior compared to a genesis.....!! in other words they need to get in the modern world!! my 97 Diamante looks more luxurious then a new galant!! lol where is the improvement is what I'm saying?! .....they need to do what they do best awd turbo cars!!

I'm not gonna stop modding. I have faith seeing that the 4G is the best Eclipse that has been released Trim for Trim out of the factory. I do applaud Mitsubishi for this, but I frown at them for discontinuing the model.

Haha depending on the mileage you have...have you tried selling or trading it in? I was getting offers around 12k for my 07 GT Spyder Premium with 36k miles...

it's sad but I'm kind of happy. I really didn't want there to be a 5g....it might have been so cool I'd have had to buy it and start from the very beginning... and I just can't afford to do that.

lol hate to tell you but the 4g def wont be a collector car. most are already worth less then 15k, i got 8k trade in on my 06 with 40k miles

Reading more into that thread, gencoupe guys are total douche's. I think it's funny how they compare the gencoupe to the eclipse when they know nothing about the eclipse. Here is a quote from the thread:

Ya I agree that the hyundai name seems a lot cheaper than the mitsubishi. But the 2.0 gen coupe's are pretty slow unless they have a lot done to them. I think they would stand a chance against a intake/exhaust v6 eclipse only if they had full exhaust, intake, intercooler and piping, and reflash.

dude, the same can be said for the eclipse... in all reality... and your comparing a i4t, to a v6... if your going to compare the two cars, go v6 to v6, and i4 to i4

i used to think i'd never consider buying a hyundai. the year that changed all that was 2010. 2010 will be the year i think a lot of people changed their minds about hyundai. The new sonata, genesis, genesis coupe, hell even the elantra (jury's still out on the equis or whatever the name is). my point is, if you ask me, hyundai and mitsubishi are the same in my head although one's falling and the other is rising.... but i still love my 4g!

I think you need to go look inside a loaded Hyundai vs loaded Mitsu .....there is a huge difference and Mitsu is not the better one! Mitsu needs to bring the Over seas line up in the states and maybe they might do better look at there options over seas
