So I've been finding a lot of information that Mistubishi is discontinuing the Eclipse in 2013!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this true?

Heres one source i found

you just noticed that???? there was even a petition on facebook a couple months ago. Mitsubishi is not gonna make any performance cars after 2015 and start doing only environmental friendly soap boxes.

Old news, the last eclipse will be made in august of 2011. Come on guys, you couldn't see it coming? When they take the 6speed away and only have auto(fail)matic as an option on the GT, you know its not looking good. Oh well, at least we have the last gen, take care of your ride and keep it around as long as you can.

yeah most coupe car models only last about 6 years until they get redesigned or discontinued. this car has been around since 05 and its time to move on to something new. Just look at honda discontinuing the s2000 back in 09, remodeling the civic si already, nissan going from a 350 to 370, mazda about to discontinue the rx8, ford redesinging the focus, hyundai jumping to the genesis from the tibby and scion updating their tc. It is part of the inevitable. I am just glad they lasted this long

I got to get a ride-along in an "i" while I was at MOD. It's a piece of shit. With all the grants and tax incentives it comes out to 16 grand, but I wouldn't even pay that much. The exterior looks fucking retarded, and the interior is even worse, nothing but cheap shit inside.

It's a car full of fail, and I highly doubt it'll sell. I'd rather drive a Prius than a piece of shit "i", and that's saying a lot because I hate Prius's with a passion.

in a way, if the 4G is the last of its kind, we all have a keeper ! (not a classic, just a keeper)...
i'm debating whether or not i should take my 4G with me when i go back to France... i know by then it will be discontinued, or if i buy a new 2012 and import it, it will have to be an auto which is a no-no...
there's nothing else really like the 4G out there these days... styling is unmatched in this price range and quite a ways above either...
i dont think it will ever be a classic, but it surely is the sexiest of all out there !!!

Pat, you hit it on the head. Really I like that they are discontinuing it. If it kept going on forever and ever the value of our car becomes LOOOW cuz there would be too many. once they stop making them years will go by and kids now (7-12) will remember seeing an eclipse "when i was a boy/girl" and they will want to buy them because they are "cool classics" and by then there will have been scrapped (accidents, sorry to say it) and will become rarer as the time goes by. Just like my old 90 crx SI.

This is the second time, Mitsubishi has made a stupid ass fucking decision, first it was the removal of the 3000GT, and now this, if they would show a little fucking dignity and give the eclipse half the shit it gives to the lancer, the outlander and shit like a touchscreen navigation system, and a more aggressive styling with more square curves and a meaner stance, the eclipse could keep competitive.

I stumbled onto that in this months issue of Super Street. The good news is that with the 2012 Eclipse is that you can get the se or special edition rather then the Gs or Gt. The Se
has leather interior, 18inch rims sunroof, 650 watt amp, hid lights, rear view back up cam, and exterior graphics. Pretty sick
