New owner of an Eclipse!

Hey guys and gals!

My girlfriend and I have recently purchased a 2006 Eclipse GT. We joined this board to learn some stuff about the car and hopefully to make the look and run great! I myself have some experience working on cars. I have a 2006 Cobalt SS that I have been modding so I'm not a complete newbie to the car stuff.

A little background info, I race karts in WKA and I am a 3 time national champion. I am purchasing a Mazda Miata to run in SCCA this upcoming year. I have been racing for 6 years now. My girlfriend used to race karts as well but "retired". She is on active duty in the Army National Guard. She will be deploying sometime in July so I will have plenty of time(and money) to mod this eclipse during the summer.

About our car, it's a 2006 Eclipse GT 6 spd. It has 3500 miles. We bought it used and the previous owner did some modding to the car already. It has a Fujita CAI and some exhaust I have yet to figure out. I think it's a Greddy? Maybe someone can help me out with it. I think the car had been in an accident. I pulled the bumper off and you could see where he had put molding or something to hold it together. I think I may put new bumpers on the car so I'll prolly look at getting a body kit for it.

Hopefully I can get to know some people on the site! I go to school at Kent State University and live in Alliance, OH. Time to start the learning!

Here is my SS. Its not the supercharged. I have plans to do a turbo build. Around 15psi @ 400whp. Estimated of course. For the summer, I'm lowering it with H&R springs and putting some nice 18" rims on it. Prolly wont do any motor work till end of summer because of all my racing.

Here is the eclipse. I'm slowly learning about the car. I want to lower the car and go to 18" rims but I need to do my research before I do anything. Motor wise I dont think I will do anything. The car has a CAI and what seems to be to a good exhaust so far.

Yeah I am a member on cobaltss.net but I don't go on much anymore cause most of the people there are jerks..

Yeah I like the eyelids. Like I said, whoever the previous owner was did some modding to the cars. I am slowly finding the things he messed up on the car. I was having a problem with the tranny and I found it only had 1 CUP of tranny fluid

So I flushed the tranny fluid and got new stuff in and havent had any trouble yet... I'm waiting for the destruction.

u havent seen jerks until u join a honda forum.. ive seen more flame wars and trolling in 1 honda forum alone than i have in all the other forums in apart of... im on like 10 give or take a few

Yeah I've heard of those Honda forums being pretty bad. Just the breed of people who buy the cars, the fast n furious honda's

I'm pretty sure after searching the site that its the Greddy EVO2 exhaust. So now I'm looking for some progress springs to lower and possibly some black projector headlights. Unfortunately though sounds like progress can't decide to discontinue the springs or not. Hopefully they make a decision soon so I can buy my springs!

There are at least a dozen springs sets out there for this car...unless you absolutely must have Progress don't let them hold you back.

I really like the progress springs with the cobalts so im just going with personal experience. Its still winter up here so I have time to make a decision. I've been looking at Eibach, h&R, and Tein springs.
