Driver side power window wont go all the way up :S

Hey guys

A couple weeks ago my car battery completely died due to the wonderful -30's weather out here in sask ....
I got a boost and my driver side window rolled down about 4 inchs on its own....which i thought was kinda wierd....after that it rolls down all the way without any issue but it wont go up past that 4inch point..it seems like it thinks it at the top when it gets to that point n the motor stops :s....the motor sounded like it was workin fine....i took my battery out to trickle charge it and will be putting it back in today....has anyone else had this window problem? and is there a way to reset it/fix it?

Thanx in-advance

Never had this problem but have you taken the door panel off to take a look at the motor while its going up and down, you may be able to visually spot something wrong if you cant hear it. Besides that idk man, gl though

Very easy fix!! This is a problem with your window short stroke, very common with a dead battery, or if you disconnect your battery with the door open, or with the window partialy down and you disconnect power.

(Edited) My mistake, this is the correct procedure for reseting the Short-Stroke for your windows.

SHORT STROKE MECHANISM FULLY CLOSED POSITION LEARNING PROCEDURE
M1429005500010
Close the door, and fully close the door window glass using the power window switch. After closing the door window glass fully, release the switch once. Then, press and hold the switch to fully close the door window glass again for 1 second.

If it doesn't reset, just repost.

Yes, simply roll & hold the window button until the window rolls all the way down and keep holding the button for about 10 seconds or until you hear a click, then repeat the process when rolling the window all the way up and hold the button for ten seconds or until you hear a click, then release. This should fix the problem with the short-stroke of your window.

problem with driver side window

Mitsubishi Eclipse 2006 GS

I went to drive-in theatre on weekend and after watching 3 movies with my FM n inside light on battery drained completely. When i tried to start the car driver side window slided 3-4 inches from the top. After getting a boost my car started but since then driver side window won't go all the way up (passenger side works fine)

To fix this i have tried following methods mentioned in the 4g forum:

1. Reset switch : I hold the power switch down until i the click sound . Then all the way up and kept holding it until i heard another click ----- Didn't work.

2. Rolled the window all the way down. Disconnected the battery n hold the switch up while my friend connected the battery again. ---- Now the window doesn't come up at all.

Since I tried the second method situation is worse coz now the window doesn't move up at all. Any ideas please !!!

One more thing, while disconnecting the battery I only removed the Red wire (left the black wire connected). Should I removed both wires !!

Help pls
Sunny
