Often times the smallest issues cause the biggest headaches.

I am having only 2 issues with my Eclipse and they are minor but like all minor things they are a headache in the car world. The Dials on my A/C unit are cracked (The little circle plastic pieces that tell the A/C settings, Temp, etc) and I don't know how to replace them without completely buying an entire new unit. Anyone know where I can get those dials?

The second issue is a high pitched whistle that comes from the driver side when driving a straight line. It sounds like when your ears are ringing after a very loud concert, I checked the bearings, wheel hub, underneath the vehicle and more and can't find out the source of the noise. Any ideas what could cause that?

For the dials, I would check the junk yards around your area, or do a search for junk yards in your area and give them a call.

Whistling sound... How does your brakes feel?? Does the sound differ when you apply the brakes, does the brake peddle feel soft and go to the floor??

But it does sound like you have a vacuum leak and most likely on your brake booster, common on our Eclipse.

ambrotos is on a distinguished road
When you say a whistling sound, could it be from the radio with the frequency noise? Do you have a aftermarket radio in? Sounds silly but I had the same issue and it just turned out to be my radio with a connection loose.(after market)

I don't have an aftermarket radio...yet, I am mid modification on a few things but haven't gotten around to that. The Brakes aren't spongy, I thought it maybe that or a crack somewhere along the vehicle. I replaced my 06 Front and Rear Bumper with 2012 Front and Rear Bumpers and that didn't resolve the issue. When I had my dual exhaust installed on it they tested the engine to see if something was a miss and still couldn't find it. It's a high pitched whistle, it kinda sounds like if you had ringing in your ears and happens when driving straight line speeds anywhere between 40mph to you're losing your license speeds.

Have you tried testing with radio "OFF" and all interior equipment turned "OFF"??

If you are still hearing the noise, I'm leaning towards a vacuum leak.
Could also be your belt tensioner on your serpentine belt, but that's
on the right side of the engine. But noise can travel.

If you have a CAI check for cracks around the welds.

Window and door seal.

Thank you, I tried with everything off and the noise is still evident. I am going do a complete cleaning of the engine bay so I will make sure there is no leak in any vacuum seals, I am also going to reseal the entire car with new weather stripping and more, it looks like the weather stripping on the bottom of the windshield is gone which is causing a rattling noise but also creates an opening which could be causing that whistle.
