Tonight me and my buddy went out on a dead highway to see where we stood. I have an 06 GT with no engine mods. He has an 07 Cobalt SS with no engine mods.
360JeepBoy (Kennan) recently ran with a Cobalt SS with unknown mods, but without knowing wats under the hood its hard to truly tell where we stand. We did several 60mph rolls, each time i pulled on him pretty good, for about the first 2-3 seconds he slowly inched back to where the nose of his car was by my door, and then he just pretty much dissapeared into my rear view mirror. we let off at able 110mph, but then there is about 3-4 car lengths between us. truly hard to tell because i dont know when he let off. Reason it was a drastic change from the first 2-3 seconds is because he drops it into second and has to throw it into 3rd pretty quick... once he throws it into 3rd. its pretty much over.. it barely pulls. we did a 20, 30, and 40 roll. all of which were massacre's to him. I pretty much left him instantly, so i feel no need to post details on those. Now we were both at a red light, when the light changed green. we took off... his nose slowly crept back to my fender, and once i went into second gear he was done.. before i knew it i could see his entire car in my side mirror. I honestly let off at about 85-90 because it was just overkill.. he was about 5-6 lengths behind me with the distance growing pretty quick. So what we learned is that at the minimum. a stock GT will take a stock SS. Here is a pic of us together. no pics or vids were taken while we were driving because we were the only ones in the cars. (There was not a single vehicle in sight when this took place.. just open road) ![]() |

I beat a ss/sc that the driver described as " up tuned" whatever that means but he had an exhaust for sure. From a dig I had him by 2 cars at 80 when I was just running stock

DrkGreen, are you sure it was a SS/SC because they do make the SS's not supercharged as well. My brother has a SS/SC and when we ran them it was a little bit closer than me beating him by 3-5 car lengths, he stayed pretty much on my rear bumper until we had to let off. We both have CAI and Exhaust so it couldn't have been that much of a difference between 2 stock ones running could it?

dont sleep on those SS i gained a lot of respect for them when i went to the race track and a stock SS kept running 14.9/14.8 so with a little bit of mods they can easily keep up. it was running way better then the hondas that where their even an s2k was running 15z... i know that an SS vs GS the gs wouldnt stand a chance... and the new SS/TC has 260hp is less then 3000lbs so i know they must be fast
