Sorry, these times are just sad, even if it was hot you're not gonna be running 10 second 1/8ths
driver mod will help

^^^ for your first time there, its ok, but your car is much faster than that. Next time lower your tire pressure if you haven't, and try to do a quick burn out. I was able to run a 10.7 with my GS, you should be running a low 9's 1/8

And being a previous mustang owner myself I suggest you keep the bad comments to yourself I would like to see your track runs with the same weather conditions we deal with down here

Haha ^ love it our cars are just as fast..times should be better but the heat deff is a factor. my first few runs were like that 9.6 9.7 but as soon as I got the hang of it I saw 9.1,9,3

I will talk as much shit as I want, my GS times were maybe 1-1.3 seconds slower in the 1/8 with very similar weather conditions(middle of july, 97 or so degrees, ridiculous humidity) and hes got a full bolt on GT.
This was a GS with intake, header, pulley

Tires are nitto nt555 fully inflated. Had the short ram in stead of cold air. Also running realy rich with a 3" exhaust. Plus auto maybe not the best times but for the first time I am happy. You can see a difference in my time so I did better each time. With a full street set up no little burn outs. Let's see your slips for your gs Jake. My car is for track witch means top end and not strip witch is bottom end.

did you happen to get lost on your way to the track, and went to the drags instead!?

Air pressure is key, it will definitely help you out

Ya I know I thought about it too but I was more into seeing how it would do the way I drive this time. I don't drive around with low air. But next time I will drop it down for real times.

...Stangcobra is correct btw. He may have come across a little harsh but he is right.
2.5 60 foots on Nitto Triple 5s is a pretty horrid launch. If you're running that high in the 1/8th then the car should be stock. Reality checks hurt sometimes...but they're needed. PS...I'm from FL...and the baddest 4Gs to show up at a drag strip have been automatics with Short Rams. So you can throw that out...Now that the reality check is outta the way... You gotta drop the PSI in those tires man. Have to. Also, try rolling into the throttle instead of hammering it down. Try launching with the traction control on as well. You should be cutting 2.1 with those tires or better if you can drive it from the dig. Next goal should be to learn to launch her...try for 2.3...consistantly...then a 2.2...keep at it. You'll get there with practice.

Ok. I lunched with tc on the first time and that was the 2.4 60 foot. Over the 2.5 with it off. I Wont three times and got a little faster each time. I will bring the tire pie down next time. Was thinking the sr was bad because of the heat? But still happy for the first run the 3" exhaust can't be helping though.

![]() Man...I've said this before. You gotta understand the community around you feeding you information. Everyone here gets on a built motors balls, they love body kits...they love boost or the mention of it...they tell you CAI makes more power and a SRI is worse than stock...Just look at how everyone jumped on Stangcobra...the guy was right...but everyone else is getting on him telling him you did ok for your first time. Look man, you didn't do well. But its ok. Because you're going to learn from it and move on. You wanna race her? Then you gotta practice. Reference other vehicles man. Just to give you an example. The Vararam intake system for LS engines makes LESS POWER on a dyno than a lot of the other intakes but it fucking makes the cars equipped with them faster than anything else...why? Its ram air. Dyno air flow vs real world air flow is different. I've been saying this forever. I think the SRI is better IMO for this car. Somebody wanna argue that? Come on with it... The SRI, if you have the stock "flow thinger" pumping air in the filter is gonna flow some serious air..."ram air" style over a stupid ass CAI. Plus, the SRI is gonna eat hard up top in the band...which will help you get outta the hole. Again, IMO...your SRI is the way to go. Next time you hit the track, pull the filter off the intake...you'll pick up a lil' some something. And yes...I'd assume a 3 inch exhaust would hurt...sounds a little large but I dunno that for sure. But I'd reference other vehicles...like big V8s run 3 inch exhaust...3.8L isn't flowing exhaust like a 5.7L with TRUE long tubes and no cats...

Ya the rsx was taking off the filter. I also lunched at 1500 rpm the last run but still had the tc off. I'll try heating the tires up next time as well. It may have not been well but I have to start some were.

I have an AEM sri, 3in headerback exhaust, and i'm also auto and I ran a 14.5 in the Texas summer. Just need practice or maybe a better prepped track.

Any intake that can "convert" itself I'd worry about...this isn't transformers. You should notice something...either on the dyno or on the track. Either one. There should be a difference down low or up top depending on the intake man. Stangcobra said, "Sorry, these times are just sad, even if it was hot you're not gonna be running 10 second 1/8ths driver mod will help". I don't disagree with that. Your original defense...doesn't make sense and is unfounded. The fastest 1/4 and 1/8 4Gs are in humid states...and are autos... Just tell Stangcobra to lighten up...and move on.

Ok I didn't want a pissing match but now it seems to be going there can you get more specific on fastest 1/4 Mile by state's and whom you are speaking of and specify all motor vs forced induction that you might be reffering to!

Thats good for nitrous and I would like to thank him I may look into trading up for the k&n which I didnt recall being available 5.5 yrs ago when I bought mine I may purchase one to replace my injen cai and we will have more fast times to post in 2 weeks my fastest was 14.0 at 104mph on garbage tires untuned all motor so theres mine until further notice and no sir did I want an arguement just a little friendship amongst the members on these boards your a mod so you've seen plenty go by untouched I just dont like seeing fellow eclipse members get bad mouthed however the severity

I would be intetested in your nitrous but I am one of the beta testers left in the dark for the reflash and aparently my timing is advanced 3 degrees but I have no way of knowing for sure as of right now and I invite to join us at bradenton in 2 weeks if you'd like

didnt mean to come across as such a douche, but there was something wrong with those launches and 60' times. People over on the SVT forums say for every .1 you take off your 60' thats .2 off your 1/4, the 60' time is incredibly important. Yes bullet drove poorly, I did too my first time at the strip, a couple tips though. Heat your tires, even if they are street tires youve got a lot of shit on them from driving to the strip, a little( and I mean little) burnout can go a long way towards improving grip. Second, brake launch, starting at 0rpm and trying to get up to mivec hurts. My launches were 2500rpm brake launches, and if it helped in a GS itll help in a GT. I'll get my timeslips if you still care, theyre somewhere around my house. And yeah I agree with supersaijin(sp?) youll get better with more runs, but its just about finding what works for you.

It's all good bro that is why the thread was posted so I can learn. I'm more in to the turns but the tracks are far so I will be trying out the track. I know the tire pressure thing but though you didn't burn out street tires but now I know.

well you dont do giant burnouts on streets, but you wanna do a little one to get some of the shit off of your tires, and to heat them a bit
