Great Race GT vs Jetta
Ok so after I installed my magna-flow CB my friend in a 1.8t jetta wanted to race me.. SO we went out and raced...we hav raced many times b4 but all he had was exhaust and intake and i beat him by like 15 cars each time it wasnt even a race more a waste of gas... But last week we dropped about 2,000 dollars into his engine and its alot quicker...So all i have done to my car is Fujita CAI and Magnaflow CB...so we went from 2nd gear... through all of 2nd he was right next to me no one was pullin on anyone...same for 3rd gear...and finally after shiftin to 4th i started pullin and shut it down at 110 had him by about a car and a half and I was still pullin so i left it like that....We raced 2 more times after that and the result was the same each time.....so I say GOOD KILL for me....especially since he is no where close to stock....he has stage 2 revo ECU, full intake to the turbo, 3 inch down pipe, 2.5 cat-back, and spark plugs....and he's pushin 17 lbs instead of stock which i think he said was 8 lbs......there will be a part 2 to this story becuz he is goin bigger with his turbo and wants to race again when he gets it done...he's gettin a K-04 if that makes any sense...thats jus what he told me

Nice!
It's awesome that you have a good buddy like that whom you can run with, and who's cool about just plain "running cars" as opposed to having a pissfest. ![]() Great story man!

I don't know much about vee-dubs, but in general, small(er than optimum) turbos may be fast spooling, but end up sacrificing top end for more torque and low-end go.
His call. Ultimately, smaller turbos could also cause more heat than necessary. But like I said, I really wouldn't know
