07 Eclipse GS vs some old Acura w/fart can
I was on my way to work this morning..and heard a fart can. My head was swivelling around, trying to find the source. HAH! At Michigan and State, an old black debadged Acura with a fart can that was installed by someone who had no concept of the word "level". I hurry up and turn onto Michigan and fight my way through the morning traffic on this one way road to get next to him. Couple of revs and looks exchanged..lights green GO! I get him from the takeoff. I hear him squealing and making a racket to my back left, but I don't look. Second gear..third.. I hear him squeal again in second. We both kick to the outside lanes to pass the traffic. ACK! A train! Traffic backup! I quickly hit the brakes (I have MASSIVE brake dust on my rims
) and make a turn towards work. He does the same in the opposite direction. I hope to meet this Acura again, perhaps dish it out in a more open arena. Unfortunately, since it was debadged, I have NO idea what model it was. My recognition of Acura's are poor. Sorry. I do think, had there been more room, he would have smoked me in the higher gears. But..tis life. I had fun, didn't wreck, and am eating breakfast at work with slightly shakey hands. |

Wow, the amount of r1c3r fan boi posts in here is rediculous. Are you serious, you want to start with street racing Civics and then move up to Mustangs and the all import warrior ION??? All hail the 2.2L Ecotec ION!!! It pwns all mankind.
Racing is not like a video game where you start off easy and your car gets magically faster after each win. Mod your car and then move up. Its all about having fun and being safe. Speeding thru rush hour traffic and shooting into another lane is a one way ticket to either killing yourself or someone else. You can only do that so many times before you cut off grandma and she ramrods you into the rest of traffic. For the love of mankind if you are going to illegally street race, do it on a less dense road.

Yes, I know its not like a video game. I plan on doing upgrades. I'm actually a very safe driver. If I thought for one moment what I was doing when I was behind the wheel was actively endangeering myself or other people, I would stop. Also, the list of cars that I put (Mustang and Ion) were not in order. They were EXAMPLES.
You've made a lot of assumptions. Most of them are wrong. The sarcasm and hostility is not needed. Last edited by Sikis : July 21st, 2008 at 12:03 PM. |

Stupidity on the roads is not needed. When you write a story of careless driving during rush hour traffic and racing a "riced out" Acura, I can only assume what kind of person is behind the post.

i wouldn't just go out and start racing cars left and right, why dont you go to the track and make your self better and your car. and if your interested in racing a civic you should take a run against mine. GS's are hella slow i know cuz i had one and if you want to race people get a new car.
