GS vs Civic SI
So after a few ricer fly-by's and trying to impress me with his fart can that by the way those cars look so ridiclous with those huge ass mufflers. 4 or 5 in what ever they are At the next light I decided to give em go cause his revin was annoying me. First was even Second I gotta nose Third Half a car and then he hit fourth like a full second or two before me and i really pulled away then. Anyways it was fun

It was an 06 its a 2.0 they have more horse 197 @7800 but only have 130 tq @ 7000 not very much pull at all

Probably not.
also, its more like 30 hp on a dynojet really. Thats what Dennis, the guy who used to be on this forum dynoed at the dyno meet where we proved a 10hp gain with the CAI.

The Eclipse GS's spec is 163hp/tq. 1st run: 142whp/150wtq 2nd run: 152whp/156wtq (with CAI) The only pics i can find is dennis' note on his hand ![]() and

Sorry I'm going to have to see vid of this one. The new SI's are running high to mid 14 sec in the 1/4. They are pretty quick and should had it to a GS eclipse. Now if you were talking about an EP3 then I might believe you.

I agree, no bolt on GS is going to hang with a new SI, unless the driver is shifting 1-3-5
Look at it on paper alone, and its obvious that there isn't much of a chance of this happening. Civic is hundreds of pounds lighter, with a much snappier engine. I'm no Honda fan, but I know those cars are respectably quick.

Ok they have aprrox 130 tq @7000 rpms they if it wasnt from a digg and we were on the Highway then yeah he probably would had me on top end alone but he had no tq what so wvwr in the lower gears he even had to go 4 while i was still in three. Maybe he doesnt know how to drive I dk but thats not my problem so you can say what you want but i was there and i know what happened. I am not the only GS to beat a SI

exactly. this d.b. down thestreet has an 03 6spd 350z. my friends is300 and my gs blow him all the time. he cant downshift. he doesnt keep shifting when necessary. horrible driver

True^^ and I'm not trying to be a downer.
Just don't go running around saying any eclipse GS will win in a race against the new SI's.... cause that is just not true. You beat the driver and that is all. Hell I just beat my buddys 2006 R6 but I'm not going to go around telling everyone my car is fast enough to take an r6 cause it's just not. I beat the rider and thats all.

also if u guesstimate 10 for the CAI another 10 for Exahust and UDP that goes from 140 WHP to 160 WHP You take a stock si 190 CHP stock so prolly 170 WHP its not that hard to figure that with only 10 WHP diff the car with greater tq can win there is almost a diff of 30 in the tq alone 150-160>130
side note i just said 150-160 cause it is somewhere in that ballpark

Your best bet is to find another guy (perhaps a friend) that has one and get a few good clean races in... that way you know where you really are agaist them..

As far as the hp numbers go... I've seen the new si's dyno from 175-193whp stock. (yes that's right 193whp!!) so they are no slough. But hp numbers are just numbers unless it's the same dyno the same day. then we can talk.
Plus don't forget... the SI weights in at 2600-2900 lbs and the GS weights in at 3200-3400 lbs. that is a big difference.
