Thats cool that you both have 4gs, but very fucking stupid that youd do something like that on roads. You should of had your cars impounded and your license suspended. And on the HW the auto would have a better chance once you get higher up.

^x.2

if you were in Cali, they'd laugh at your tears and throw you out of your own car and send it to the impound, take your license for 6 months, make you pay for your car being in the impound, and make you attend your cars funeral as it gets crushed at the junkyard, and you cant part the car out, the way your car came in is the way it meets the car gods. and if you hit it off a dig, the manual can redline you all the way up until you hit high speeds when the auto can pull on the manual

With any luck California will physically break off from the rest of the U.S. and float away. I'll leave it at that.

Maybe your car weights more. The auto trans of course.
It has a different gear ratio.
Try doing it backwards

If your a good driver you should be able to launch out the hole faster then the manual. But other then that a stock manual has the advantage over the auto. Shorter gears means top speed will come quicker. Less power lost to the wheels means top speed will come quicker.

That is about all she wrote.

1. I dont know how to drive a manual (learned on a auto as well but I want to learn how to drive a manual)
2. You dont have to keep shifting up/down in traffic (I know I know you can be behind a car so you dont have to but alot of people appearently dont know that).
3. Adds to a cars resale value
4. Alot of newer drivers learn on a automatic so its easier instead of having to learn auto + manual.
5. I think that the newer auto trannies have about the same MPG (or almost the same) as the manual but it really depends on how you drive it.

There was a post by a guy on here who said his knee started hurting because of the clutch in the 4g and how he thought he should have gotten an automatic (hey 5 speed auto-manual). I think that for most, daily drivers in the US should be automatic and then weekend cars or so should be manuals. I plan on learning a manual and getting a manual as my next car, I have a lot of fun driving in sport mode of the 4g and think that having a manual would be even funner (word?).

manual for me has its ups and downs. as a daily driver, it blows in stop and go traffic. but when I engage in spirited driving in the twisties, it cant be beat.

This car makes M/T shifting easy. If you can't learn on this car you really don't need to be driving.

Try driving stick on a truck. You don't know "hard" till you have to do that everyday.

I wouldn't apologize for upsetting people....they were just stating their opinions their fashion....this forum is open for us to talk and put our views towards others out there, we do however try to keep this a forum with people that understand that racing is on tracks and in a safe and legal way....what you did happened, now just try to move on from there with the criticisms that have been sent your way and learn from it....we are not trying to make you feel terrible or anything like that....well all of us at least..just enjoy your car and continue posting on the forums.....

I have an auto. I don't feel like banging gears. I just want to cruse with the top down.
Drove a 5 speeds for a few years. Drove a truck and plowed with a shift. (That sucks)
Every manual I drove I blew the shifting mechanism by power shifting. Now I just like to relax.
Most of all I'm not lazy.

1. I learned manual, never took drivers ed cause they would teach with autos which makes me cryand ive never driven a auto in my life , plus its pretty easy to learn i think, if ur a smart person of course

2.shifting up and down keeps you alert and makes you pay attention to whats in front of you so you dont crash, plus in those situations i stay in first and go very slow and stay like 20 feet away from the car in front so i dont have to shift if i get exhausted?

the rest ur pretty much right and yea it depends on how u drive the manual but you can also just pop ur auto into N when ur stoppin at a light

manual > auto, no whatter what

Try driving stick on a truck. You don't know "hard" till you have to do that everyday.
lol my dad drives a semi, i drove it once....was crazy and dumb on how many gears there are, but i love how i can take off from 2nd or 3rd gear from a stop lol
