it is bracket racing, and i think it's either 6.791 or 10.15. It doesnt have the feet just what the sensors are called. I launch at about 4000 or so. I know thats one thing i need to work on is watching my rpms. i shift about 6000 or so.

lol for sure..he's the man
Well your at 4000rpm no reason to be bogging unless its really sticky. Shift higher thats for sure. Is your TCL buttong off or on?

There is your reason....always off when racing. Its meant for when your tires start to spin i slows down the rpms so that the tires can get traction once again. Thats why its bogging down on you. Turn off and giver again. You should be a least a sec faster.

Yeah ive done the same thing and wondered right when i took off my car sounded like crap i was like WTF and saw i forgot to take off the TCL button. I usually shut it off at the track just before i stage if there is a line up so i don't get to much heat. Also turn you heat on max...DON'T put it on defrost just on front vents you will expell the heat outta the engine better, but it will get warm but it will shave .100 off your time.

Suspension is also key not a huge factor but will help if you geta front tower bar and if you lower it.Then you can go aftermarket clutch and flywheel for faster revs. I have that worth the money.

I installed Live4redline's fan control switch in that turns on the cooling fans, so I can cool the engine while waiting in the staging lanes, and between heats......I've hit 13.8 with intake and exhaust haven't been there since my spacers....that was in SoCal, up here in utah with the High elevation, I run almost 3/4 of a second slower, at 14.5ish........
but the cooling fan is tha bomb between heats.....I can cool down the block almost completely in about 10 minutes here in utah with our wonderful 45 degree air.......

Hahano,
Sense we are talking about DR's. What size and kind did you get? And for what size rim? I'm fixing to get some.

OK OK OK OK!! STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![]() This car is NOT (NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) a honda. 4000k RPM's is to high to launch the car, and 4500 to 5000 is just plain dumb. All you will do is spin tires and go no where. (READ THIS PLEASE) The reason you bogged you car was just like HAHANO said, You had TCL on and the computer was trying to control the wheel spin. This is how you need to lauch a 6sp GT. 1. Skip the water box. (getting you tries wet will do no good unless you have slicks) 2. Burn em!!!! (yes burn your tires! don't go crazy and burn them for 5 min, but give them a good 5sec of spin to get any water/rockes or anything else that might be on them, off. This will also warm them up a litte bit, and everyone knows a warm tire grips better then a cold.) 3. make sure car is in first gear 4. Rev up to about 2500 rpms. (what you want to do with this car is to give it enough gas to get off the line without bogging, but not so much that the tires will just light up and the car will go no where.) 5. Hopefully you know where your clutch engages at. Take your clutch to the point right before in engages. 6. When the light turns green don't just drop the clutch. Ease it out pretty fast, just not a complete drop. Make sure your easing in on the gas while you are doing this, cause if you don't you will bog. If the tires start spinning, use your throttle to control it. Very small movements make a ton of difference on this car (we have lots of tq). Remember more gas equals more spin, and less gas equals less spin. (pretty simple) 7. If your car is stock and you have some pretty good tires, once you do grap traction then hit it to the floor getting ready to shift to second. If your car is not stock and/or you have really shitty tires, quickly push the throttle to the floor getting ready to shift to second. (by the time you this the bottom of the pedal you should be hitting red line and be shifting) 8. Don't take the car to redline in anyother gear. (our cars power drops off earlier and doing this is just a waste of time) Shift around 5800-6000 RPM's. 9. once you shift to 4th keep it there. There is no need to shift to 5th in the 1/4 mile because 4th will take the car to about 115-120mph, which is more then our car will trap as of right now. Like I said before, this car is not a honda. Our tq comes on almost as soon as you hit the gas. That is one reason this car is so fast.

Yes i have the front tower the lower tie bar and now the rear sway they do something.
They are a set of 225/45/R17 and running them on two steelies ( i know their heavier) and they are Bf goodyear G force Drag radial T/A's . Not cheap like $301 a tire.

Hey jeepboy I think you nailed it....I remember comming out of the hole. It wasen't the high revs but more or less starting at a high rev then bringing it down then punching the throttle as you pop the clutch. It was just a churp of rubber with no rev drop and already the RPMs at redline. Then powershifting bang into second. Then bang into third. (Third was harder). Thats why drag cars have a whole different trans. I got my best times that way.
Thats was of course rearwheel drive and no computers.

Yea I have lauched this car more times then I can count. I also must say that this is the hardest car I have every had to lauch. If you don't do it just right then you are fucked.
HAHANO, I heard Mickey Thompson makes the best DR tires, but I can only find them in 275/r17, which is to big for my wheels. (17 by 8)

Oh I know all about launching a honda. I had a 91 CRX SI. I would rev to about 5k rpms and just drop the clutch... out the hole everytime lol.

Some of you guys are being a bit optimistic with the 14 flat business. Yes it can be done, but buy a handful of drivers under ideal conditions. I say the GT is a mid 14 second car stock, with the average driver under normal circumstances.
Sure we've seen some freaks crack a 13 nearly stock. But 14 flat is quick.

Like I said, the problem with this car is it is hard to launch. Plus add on that no one even takes it to tracks much to practice, and that is why it is a mid to low 14sec car.
If people freaked over this car, like they do over the SRT-4, I know we would see plenty in the high 13 sec, low 14 sec, range.
